M2C & OG M2 Kidney & Lower Grilles Protective Mesh Kits!

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 65.00

Item Interest
BMW thought it was important to include a mesh on the kidneys of their M2 CS Racing, and now you can have the same protection against debris for your OG and M2 Competition!

These kidney grille mesh kits feature a black rhombic pattern mesh similar to that found on Porsche GT3s. Unlike the M2 CS Racing mesh, this kit requires NO DRILLING of the kidney grille frame to install.

Now you can prevent debris from entering the top and bottom openings of your bumper as these kidney grille meshes are a perfect compliment to the popular aftermarket mesh inserts for the lower grilles.

Full instructions (no bumper removal required) also included!

Price: $65 shipped CONUS

OK, you guys convinced me... I can make mesh kits for the three lower M2C grilles now. Since they're installed behind the stock grilles, removing the bumper is required to install them, but they're much cleaner, don't break up the original grille designs, and are pretty invisible compared to any mesh that sits in front of the stock grilles.

Lower Grille Meshes Price: $300 shipped CONUS
Full Grille Meshes Kit (Kidneys + Lowers) Price: $355 shipped CONUS

Full kidney + lower mesh kit pictured below:

Somebody asked me if I can do a mesh for the underside Turner skid plate too. Yup!

Turner skid plate mesh price: $50 shipped CONUS

I know this listing is old but is this by any chance still available? I saw your video on this but looking for a less labor intensive solution I ordered the Zunsport for the lower grilles. I would still need the kidney grill mesh.

BTW I am (very) concerned about airflow and impared cooling at the track in the Texas heat. I know from YT you track your car so how was it?

Thanks

I actually have a cheaper "DIY kit/solution" for the kidney grilles now that includes the mesh, fasteners, and instructions (you remove your kidney grilles and install the mesh onto them). No drilling is required either! The kits are $65 shipped.

As for temps, I have the m-perf electronic steering wheel so I can see coolant and oil temps, they've all been just fine even in the hotter months for me. Given that the M2 CSR runs the mesh from BMW, I don't think there's a significant impact to cooling.

Cool product. Works on '17 M240i? You have another easy dyi for the lower grill as well?

Unfortunately I don't have an OE F22 kidney grille to see if it would work and make a pattern for.

The lower grilles are much more difficult since they require bumper removal.

Great product & simple, easy to follow instructions! Matches up well with the Zunsport lower grill mesh screens.

Save yourself the $3K repair bill.

Thanks Farkle!

Where can I see the details of the Mesh kit you have for the M2C/CS kidney grills? Thanks!

Glad they're working out for you! Got a pic of your whole front setup?

What would you like to see? The photo in the first post/main listing is how they'll look once installed in the kidneys.

Sorry, I haven't studied an OG M2's grille to see if it's feasible or not.

Farkle, what about lower grill mesh or maybe a kit that covers all the vents?

Zunsport already makes an "in front" solution for that, and the market of people who would remove their bumper to install a behind the grate solution like I have isn't very large.

Mostly interested in how the newer DIY kit comes and the process to install it. I saw the video of the older setup where you had to cut them to size.

I made a template to cut these to the correct size. They come with the mesh and fasteners. They attach similarly to the previous version, however I figured out different fasteners and mounting points so that no drilling into the kidney is required.

I'm happy to report I've developed a kit for the OG M2 and F2X 2-Series (same grille shape)!
