i was replying to thread about upping the amperage of the USB charging port in the center console as it's useless from factory hardly even able to maintain a phone's charge.

here are the steps using stephen's app.

select headunit, in my case HU_NBT-EVO

in that ECU, go to 3001, shown as "EXBOX"
in 3001 EXBOX you will see "SET_USB_MAX_CHARGING_CURRENT" (see middle of photo below)

change value to desired option. in my case i did 2100mA (shown below as configured by default)

hope that helps someone else

For some reason the app fails to read this module. I thought I saw a post on here re this but can't find it now.
I'm guessing you have the most updated version? Do you see any items under ACSM or do you get errors?

The ACSM module showed nothing for me until it was updated. I got an error on the first go with it. Tried again and then items under the ACSM showed up. I was then able to code out the seat belt chimes.

I think there may have been another update since, maybe there is an issue with new version?
I'm on 2.0.9 (5540) Is this the latest?

Just got my Vgate 2 from Amazon...unfortunately going out of town but can't play...

Would it make sense to create a Wiki for all the different EXPERT MODE codes to organize this thread?

Do you know if this allows USB Power Delivery for rapid charge?

2,100 mA could be considered rapid charge provided your phone supports it. Keep in mind most USB ports are in the 500-900 mA range.

Has anyone coded these features?

Video codecs
Video in motion
Video via USB

Does this allow you to play movies off of a USB thumbdrive on the idrive screen? If so what video formats are supported? Thanks

Anyone get ASD back on?

Also is there a way to control the exhaust flap operation via BimmerCode, or do I need to download BimmerLink. Will BimmerLink restore the ASD that BimmerCode turned off?

Thumbs up

Great app and a helpful thread. I've made some progress on my 2017 week 15 car.

Got Android mirroring to work.
DVD now plays at speed.
Seat belt buzzer is history.
I drive 6 lite is active. (Tried the 6 full and the menu is all fubar).

And some other little stuff.

A few observations.

As these cars get newer, a lot of things that required coding a year ago can now be done natively. Check that out first.

Seems to be no way to make the mirroring full screen.

After I coded vid in motion, now every time I code the head unit, I'm asked to do the I drive menu part again. I haven't. I should check to see if it still works.

update: it still works. I only did the in car menu bit the first time.

And a question.

Has anyone gotten the windows to roll up if it rains? It's there on the f22 cheat sheet, but can't find it on my car. I'd love this on my car. With the Florida heat, cracking the windows makes life a touch easier.

Thanks to everyone who has added some great stuff to this thread.

Exhaust flap operation can be controlled with bimmerlink not bimmercode. ASD can also be turned on and off easily in bimmerlink versus coding in steps in bimmercode.

As far as your issue of restoring ASD. I'm not sure if bimmerlink can permanently restore it. When I wanted to turn my ASD back on via bimmercode. I had to restore via my very first backup. Have you tried that?

Just a general comment regarding ASD, Exhaust flap and bimmerlink.
I've been playing with ASD ON and OFF via bimmerlink and it's probably just me but I could hardly tell the difference on the M2. If any, when ASD is on I can describe as the sound being inside a concert hall versus listening from an outdoor concert. I know the exhaust flap trigger works because you can actually hear it close and open.

For me all I had to do is restore my very first backup for the ASD module. You'll have to check in Expert mode to make sure it's set to the M2 as model number.

Do note that coding the ASD module does throw shadow codes... so your dealer could maybe give you crap for it.

I have it coded, and will be installing the bypass harness soon, and re-code it back to default M2.

Thank you for this. Question, how different is the sound with the flaps open?

It is in the FEM (front electronics module). close with comfort access or something like that will roll your windows up if you hold the lock or keep your finger on the handle... under mirrors, there is Fold Mirrors when locking vehicle with comfort access. Also the unfold on unlock is in there too. Have fun.

This is a standard setting within iDrive itself. No coding needed. I don't recall offhand where the setting is, though. Poke around.
