It's official: (Lap times) TT RS faster than M2, M4 and M6.
Prelude: New article from EVO: M2 vs TT RS vs Cayman S
"(The M2's)...dampers soon get switched back from Sport to Normal – they’re far too stiff for these roads, and even in Comfort the M2 can pogo – but I still long for the engine to have more energy higher up the rev band and to not make a monotone grrrr whatever it’s doing… After the M2, the Audi is a revelation. There’s little to signpost its impending ability other than ‘fast’ steering, which initially feels like a ruse to disguise a lot of engine in the nose. It’s not. The TT RS gets better the harder you drive it." TT RS 0-62 MPH: 3.5 1/4 mile: 11.6 Circ. de Nevers Magny-Cours Club ---1:22.60 Contidrom (3.63 km) ----------------- 1:36.20 Contidrom (3.8 km) -------------------1:32.78 Sachsenring --------------------------- 1:37.53 M2 0-62 MPH: 4.2 1/4 mile: 12.5 Circ. de Nevers Magny-Cours Club ---1:23.50 Contidrom (3.63 km) ------------------1:38.40 Sachsenring ----------------------------1:37.65 M4 0-62 MPH: 4.0 1/4 mile: 12.0 Circ. de Nevers Magny-Cours Club ----1:23.72 Contidrom (3.8 km) -------------------1:33.60 Sachsenring -----------------------------1:37.22 M6 0-62 MPH: 3.9 1/4 mile: 11.8 Sachsenring -----------------------------1:37.67 "The little orange Porsche’s flat-four thumps coarsely at idle from just behind my kidneys. For once, I am oblivious to it. I am completely transfixed by an Audi TT seemingly heading for a massive accident. Up ahead, road test editor Dan Prosser is getting the new TT RS out of shape for Dean Smith’s camera on the far hairpin of Bedford Autodrome’s West Circuit. The TT dives aggressively into the corner then pitches nose up as Dan gets committed with the throttle, markedly gaining speed in the process. Suddenly the tail yaws to the side, by perhaps 25 degrees but no more, and then it stays locked onto that drift angle, still gaining speed, the front wheels almost straight, the rears spinning up, engine howling. However, there is no accident: this is just what the new TT RS does under power. Already I get the distinct feeling it may be a TT unlike any other." Source: http://fastestlaps.com/models/bmw-m4 http://www.evo.co.uk/group-tests/190...yman-vs-bmw-m2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bottom line: If you regularly use the backseats, get the M2, hands down. It is a good all-rounder. If you have the money and appreciate luxury interiors and creature comforts, plus really care about your car's soundtrack, get the TT RS. If you don't need backseats, don't care that much for the soundtrack when compared to the importance of handling, the best of the bunch in that regard is of course the Cayman S. What is amusing is that apparently they noticed a difference in the ride after changing from "Sport" to "Normal." There is no "Normal," of course. And this business about "Comfort" "pogo"-ing, when the other settings apparently didn't, says all you need to know about these dudes. Clueless--they not only don't know the car, they feel non-existent differences when they drive. Which makes you wonder about all their conclusions about feel in any of the cars, in fact.... |

Interesting article, I have a deposit down on both the TT RS and an M2 CS. I'm hoping to get the Audi later this year and see how the M2 CS story unfolds. I've always been fond of AWD. I agree with what they say about the Audi's engine and it's sound, that's something that's very important to me and I think it would keep me from purchasing the Porsche with the Turbo 4, and I'm not a "track" person. I sold a 991 C4S a few months ago with the sport exhaust, now that car sounded fantastic but from what I hear online the Audi may have it beat. I also agree though that Audi should have given the car some body flares like many of their other RS' cars, it would have certainly made it more unique and one big reason the M2 is so cool. Also to their point, I'm going to order mine with the rear wing delete, I think it looks better without it.
They are all nice cars though and fit slightly different needs. No losers amongst them. |

Did they even bother to actually drive a M2, or just wrote the "comparison" as soon as the check from Audi cleared?!

My app just relased Looking for a 5 mil payout. Worst case scenario, like REALLY WORST...I'd be debating between a brand new Miata Club, manual, limited slip dif. is standard...or a used M2/C7 'vette. That Miata is super light, has a very nice sound is looks modern, but it is sooo cheap... 30-35k new in PR whilst M2 is 60-80 and TTRS 85+. It all falls down to how well my app does in the first year and if I can do a succesfull rollout to the states. |

It's for couples (not singles), to give them ideas of what to do where to go, the app has reminders for special dates (anniversary, birthdays, for us busy folk!), romantic suggestions, you can buy experiences tailored for couples and you can link your accounts to share a Wishlist in-app.
Available for both Android and iOS I'll give out the name once I finish my beta testing. |

Wanted something that incites economic activity with enfasis on local businesses in order to make couples get out of the house and take on new adventures to create unforgettable moments, rather than spending all of the free time on Netflix/movie theater.
Help relationships keep the spark alive? Help the economy? Making a living out of this? Yes please! |

And what the hell does that have to do with the TT RS? Stop being an immature idiot, man, if you don't have anything useful to say, just shut up. I guess you're just mad the TT RS is faster around all of the tracks? |

I love the M2 vs section but sometimes it gets out of hand with mine is better than yours useless posts!
It's all about personal preference and how are you going to live with the car you buy. I set on the new TTS and imagine how i will use it with daily drive with wife and kid. It was No No for me, the TTRS has better sporty interior better engine better 0-60. But I don't like the rare and side looks ! As one review wrote "it looks like a futuristic toaster in tony stark kitchen". M2 has more than enough power nice interior great sound. and most important.... Watching my son excitement on the back seat with traveling suit case and his bike in the trunk |

No. It is much slower, because it is much heavier, less dynamic and looks like a Kia, from the side and rear. It is such a shame, because I really want an M2 GC.

Very hard to say until the specs come out. I agree on the side view. I was not even interested until I saw the interior. It is a cut above the M2. Lately I've been thinking I get the m2 and then trade my golf r for an rs3. The two would really complement each other.

Complimenting cars would be an M2/M3 and a Corvette/Porsche. IMO. The RS3 is just way too ugly on the outside and not special looking at all. |

When I was younger, EVO was THE carmag overhere. Not kidding.
Now they're testing a one-off M2 with adjustable dampers... They're getting better and better in getting their facts straight. The OP quoting that stuff, I have a suspicion he is an EVO journo.... Quote:
