Manual Seat Adjustments in M2

As I am concerned about fitting with a helmet, I am very pleased to see that manual seat and head restraint adjustments are described in the owners manual you can download in the BMW Drivers Guide for a US DCT M Driver's Package VIN.

1 Forward/Backward
2 Thigh Support
3 Seat Tilt
4 Backrest Width
5 Height
6 Backrest Tilt

Sweet

This is great news if true. I'd prefer cloth, but manual seats alone are hard to come by these days.

So the US M2 will have a manual seat option?

If so this is awesome news!

I don't get it.

I kinda don't get how BMW gives manual seat option to M2, but not M235i, but then again, I wouldn't mind owning manual seat M2.

Could also just be pre-release manuals as the car isn't released yet.

I would imagine you can't get such and such package otherwise you're slapped with power seats. Now if only idrive wasn't standard...

Uh.... I ordered it with manual seats? Automatic seats are an option you have to pay for at my end. So what is all the fuss about?

Is this again a US only thing?

No it is not.

I`ve orderd the M2 with manual seats, the automatic seats are optional at least in the Netherlands, but I guess that will be the same in the whole EU.

Anyway, the Cayman GTS is gone and I`m back to BMW again, end of April 2016 I`ll take her home........

I think you meant right but typed wrong?

It is "a US only" thing to only get electric seats and no option for manual seats. Some other markets also get all the options by default though but most of the european countries can select options as they please.

Yeah, Ford is bringing back cloth sport seats with the GT350, Focus RS, SVT Raptor, and even the exotic GT. Hope others will follow but I doubt it. #PovertySpecTillIDie

I believe my M235i manual also has instructions on using the manual seats even though it's not an option in the US.

I hope that for M2 owners this info is correct.

After sitting in a 228 with power seats I was definitely concerned with headroom and a helmet.

So do we know if the M2 in North America has manual or power seats? The Canadian order guide simply says 481 Sport Seats but not sure what that means or what that includes. There is no seat option so they are either all manual or all power

I see that as great news!

If power seats are an option, it would follow that manually adjustable seats are standard.

It is possible that a package with things I am not willing to do without includes the power seats.

Barring that complication, I am guessing I will be able to order a car with manually adjustable seats.

It is an option on the M235i too in all the rest of the world but 459 is added by default in the US. It isn't listed in the Canadian order sheet but still on all cars, so no it isn't good news.

It would appear not on the M2.

Take a look at V351815.

There is no Option 459 listed.

There is Standard Equipment 481 Sport Seats F Driver/front Passenger, what I am guessing are manually adjusted seats.

This car also has Option 494 Seat Heating F Driver/front Passenger, possibly making a bunch of Canadians happy.

That it a test mule, so it doesn't matter.
All final spec cars I tested had the option. But I didn't test them all...

Hmm.. upon further inspection, the M2 in question comes with analog climate controls. BMW never uses this system in the US; even the 228i has the digital dual-zone unit. So I'm not getting my hopes up.

If that's true that's quite the interesting find.

I wanted the manual seats on my M2 but couldn't. I ordered a dealer demo car here in Belgium and even though you can normally choose what seats you want,I couldn't because it's a demo car.

Apparently BMW wants all demo cars (or at least in Belgium ) to be fitted with automatic seats.
