I can discuss my deduction; BMWBlog reported that the G87 M2 will have a laser light option, which the 2 Series doesn't currently have and from the spy pics; the DRL appears to be different. The M2's running lights seems to be sloped, whereas, the 2 Series' DRL is more curved.

Wink if I'm on the right track 😉

Isn't that the inner part of the light that you circled in the spy car, which is the same slope as the inner part of the 2 series? Not saying the overall shape wont be different, but it's still not clear how the inner lighting will look in the M2's headlight casing based on the latest spy shots.

Also, wish BMW would make the rear lights different than the 2 series also but doesn't appear that will be the case.

The S55 in the M2c sounds better and the tune is much better IMHO. Much easier to drive in traffic (6mt) than the early M4.
I agree. I much prefer my M2 CS over my F80 (both were 6MT).

My biggest concern with the new M2 is the 6MT. I have heard negative impressions of the G80 6MT and read them from journalists as well. The manual in my M2 isn't perfect, but its a good match for the engine. Further, there is the potential for BMW to lower the output of the 6MT car versus an auto comp version like the G8X. The G87 will need the extra power to compensate for the weight increase, unless weight savings are achieved.

Happy to hear that. Fingers crossed for a more "BMW" DRL.

I assume the G87 M2 will mimic the G8x M3/M4 in that the 6MT will only be available with the base engine tune? Then the M2C and eventually the CS will only come with the slushbox automatic.

I wouldn't be too sure, from what we're seeing the comp is likely going to have less horsepower than even the base M3/M4. In that case, there's really no reason that we won't see a manual version.

Who knows about the CS.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that quad pipe cluster before. I wonder if it's real. It doesn't look very BMW-ish.

It's the optional M performance on the G8x M3/M4 cars.

I googled it. Right you are! It's crazy that with all of the BMW events I've attended that I've never seen those pipes.

Not sure if you guys are being serious? It's the current design for the G80/2/3 platform MPerformance Exhaust system.

Yeah, I guess I'm a bit out of the loop on the G series. I've just never seen that exhaust in the wild.

That spoiler is horrifyingly sad. Subaru, line 1... it wants its style back.

I liked it on the E36.. SO, what do we think of the sound that car makes? Sounds a little sewing machine buzzy and thin if you ask me at least at idle .. Where's the bass? I think the N55 in the OG sounds way better to be honest.
