Thinking of moving over, what's it like in Melbourne?
In NZ but strongly likely going to move over to Melbourne. I visited for the first time a few months ago and took a car out for the day. Went northwest into Blackspur forest I think it's called. It was alright but short lived and not an epic drive.
Got me looking and thinking more and I just didn't get good vibes about the roads in VIC? Then you hear about how Draconian police/road laws are. Short of joining the BMW club which appears very well organised and something I'd likely do to do track/advanced training days (currently don't track, did Millbrook once back in UK) what's it like to own a performance car in the state? Are there good drives? Last edited by 3t3p; 07-16-2023 at 04:51 AM.. |

Yes plenty. Join the Drivemasters Australia FB group and Melbourne F87 Owners FB group - plenty of drives get organised.
I would say for a major capital city, Melbourne and greater Victoria has a pretty great road system. Of course it won't compare to NZ South Island with the massive lakes around every corner but there's still plenty to discover. |

Thanks very much.
I toured the South Island in my car, it's a freak of nature..one of the best drives of my life was there, think it was called inland road just after Kaikoura. |
