Do you want 4 seats to 2, is the same question as has been confirmed so far, no?

As I going to be possible though by the time they take orders for the car? Is that colour going to show up in any other cars? I'd love to see it in person too. I'm personally hoping it's not a boring plain silver metallic. If it has a grey sheen to it, it would be great, and I'd consider it.

Sorry VCP and Benef1cient that was meant to be a humorous reply to your original posts above.

Darn mobile app.
Well to be honest I bought my Golf GTI PP after watching his YT clip about it and It's a great daily that I'll keep for longer trips and my significant other

I also did some nice times on my local track with a stock 230 HP car SS lines, MPSS and yellowstuffs, people assumed I had it modified to 300HP but I learned I need brakes more, learned about tyre operating temps (sometimes the hard way and without an indicator like in M2), pressures, weight (one person riding shotgun and full tank made -1.5 sec difference per lap), weather (loved to pass all RWD cars in rain) and honed my lines and braking points. I know the pain of being limited by the car on track but also it was very rewarding to see the progress, keeping up with ppl in more powerful cars, keeping the momentum, very rewarding

Even without Chris Harris recommendation M2 is a clear winner at this price point.

On a side note my GF tells me that guys get crazy on the road when she drives the GTI alone, wonder what will happen when I put her in the M2

Wouldn't that be hilarious if the vaporware M2 CS was released, but only with an automatic transmission? I'll laugh my ass off, then offer to sell my regular 6MT M2 to forum members who were waiting for the CS (at a modest profit, of course) :-)

And again Artemis is bringing us the confirmed information from within the world of VIN numbers and production databases... You have to love this

Not much that changes on my spec! Still expecting my spec (and that is every single new extra) to be around 75K EUR including 21% VAT here (and no other taxes) in Europe. About 10K above my current spec.

Now let's wait until April arrives and we can all start ordering. Dealer told me today that there might be a chance we can order before the official release, because that happens more often with other BMW models. Let's wait and see what happens.

Saw a white 1M today with orange stitching... Really cool Especially since Hockenheim Silver seems to be (according to sources on this forum) quite close to white.

In the meantime, I am putting my M2 for sale, which means removing all parts from it that could go to the Competition when it arrives. Let the rebuild to stock begin

I'm counting on that by the time we know what the CS will be, there will still be build allocations available for M2 Competition?

The photo of the supposedly leaked M2 Competition is so fake. The front parking sensors give it away. M2's never came with front parking sensors...

I don't think the M2 comp or CS (whatever it may be called) will deviate much from the current design - expect maybe changes to wheels & exhaust

Look at the option list in the first post and pay close attention to the codes 507 and 508

OF course it will show up on other vehicles... if that paint us used at the factory in Leipzig where the M2 is made... I can GAR-ON-TEE that other vehicles from BMW will come out of the factory that color.. most likely an SUV.. and even if not... google image the following colors..

Valencia Orange BMW
Long Beach Blue BMW

then go pick any other color of a vehicle produced in Leipzig and do the same.. if you still don't believe..

Me, but I know it won't happen. I'll deal with it, but this will be (if I decide to to change the F80 to the F87 competition, which is my current plan) my first non-gray BMW ever (since 1999). Well I guess technically my 1999 528 was Aspen Silver, but it looked gray. How will I cope??

Talking about wheels: in your spec list posted last September you included code '2QT' as optional wheel choice.

The retrieved VINs show the current M2 double-spoke 19" 437M wheels as stock feature:
  • 2VZ: 19"lt/aly Wheels Do.sp. 437 M/mt Bl (19"m Lm Raed.doppelspei. 437 M/mb S)
Optional two all-new Y-spoke forged 19" 788M wheels show up in the VINs:
  • 2QT: 19"m Law.ý-sp.788 M For. Mt. (19"m Lmr Y-sp.788 M Ge. Mb): frequently in USA-spec VINs, rare in EURO-spec VINs
  • 29U: 19"m Law.ý-sp.788m For.mt.black (19"m Lmr Y-sp.788m Ge. Mb Schwarz): frequently in EURO-spec VINs, rare in USA-spec VINs
Attempt to understand the wheels choice on the basis of the VIN descriptions:
LMR = Leichtmetallräder = leight(weight) metal wheels/alloys | Ge. = geschmiedet = For. = forged | Mt. and Mb = (likely) matte | Schwarz = black.
EDIT: Mb and Mt. = "Mischbereifung" = mixed tyres

That begs the question about the difference between codes '2QT' and '29U': does it refer to a difference in finish (silver vs. black ?) or to a difference in tires ? Let's see what BMW says about it when announcing the car in a few months. So keep both '2QT' and '29U' under consideration.

Personally I like Y-spoke design wheels. Remember the beloved 359M design of the 1M and E92 M3 GTS and the 127M design of the E46 M3 CSL (see here).

Alternative: the 763M wheels aka M2 M Performance wheels available right now (see the dedicated thread here).

Alloy size information:
  • 437M for M2/M3/M4 - 19"F+R - Jet Black or Ferric Grey: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx19 ET40 (R)
    Europe: here | USA: here
  • 763M 'M Performance' for M2/M3/M4 - 19"F+R - Matt Black: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx19 ET40 (R)
    Europe: here | USA: here
  • 763M for M4 CS - 19"F + 20"R - Orbit Grey: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx20 ET40 (R) (source confirming those ET values: here and here)
Too bad the 763M in Orbit Grey is not available in 10Jx19 ET40 size fitting the M2 rear.

Option 507 (PDC rear) featured in early stage VINs. But was replaced by option 508 (PDC front + rear) in plenty of later stage VINs.

So yes, it looks like BMW decided to offer PDC F+R for the M2 Competition, just like BMW made it available for the M4 GTS and M4 CS.
