No pricing available until September but their pre-lci tacho retrofit for non M2's was 900 euro.

If its going to cost 900 euro to install the LCI cluster in my pre-LCI M2, I'm in!

The only thing wrong with this car is this gauge cluster!

Am I the only one who likes the pre-lci cluster better?? Even though they have the dim issue.

Something nostalgic about it to me. Reminds me of the bmws of my past(came from e46 M3). Feels more in line with the pure purpose of the M2 vs the digital dash. Maybe I'm just crazy lol.

I like it a lot better but don't love the contrast issues. So the lci is safer and more legible but to me M gauges should be grey faced and orange backlit.

A BMW has got to have orange back lighting. I'll keep my Pre LCI cluster. Honestly, I'd keep everything Pre LCI, but I suppose that's another thread.

Agree. It doesn't look right. The only thing needed is to turn on the backlighting sooner. Why is such a simple fix not doable?

M cars have all white cluster since a few generations ago. Don't know if the series car will be all white on the LCI, but it is nothing new with all white cluster for BMW.

Since e9x. So one generation ago, not a few. Before that every single model was orange backlit.

The only thing I really wish mine did today that this one seems to do is always show the speed limit. Dumbest thing ever on my MY17 is that the speed limit info is not displayed when the digital speed is on.

M5 E60 had it too, so everything from the last 10 years at least, and that is two generations ago...

Same for the MY16.

I remedied this nuisance by fitting the P3 gauge (See the dedicated thread: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1295131):
  • left of center: big-digits speedometer (P3 gauge)
  • center: BMW navigation including Speed Limit Info (on board computer)
I almost never use the OBC settings anymore. If I want to know the coolant and oil temps, I scroll through the P3 gauge (when showing speed: 6 ticks to show oil temp; to get back to showing speed: 6 ticks again). Engine ready to be pushed: wait till the oil temp reaches 87°C. For my 'fuel range' I use one of the programmable memory buttons showing the menu featuring the range figure: just a touch of that button to check range and immediately click the NAV button on the iDrive to show the map again (and actually, it's more accurate to simply check the fuel tank needle position).

Lmao. At first everyone was asking about the gauges, now everyone seems to love their pre-lci ones. I don't mind either of the options as I think that if you bought this car for the look of the interior or exterior, sorry but you bought a wrong car.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the new ones. I don't mind mine except I cant see them in the day time and the speed limit thing I just mentioned. Not that i need either, I just would have designed it more effectively.

Laugh your ass off all you like, its got nothing to do with the aesthetics, fact is, you cant see these gauges for shit in poor lighting conditions.

Therefore, the pre-LCI gauges are not really fit for purpose. In certain lighting conditions anyway!
