Question on OEM wheel repair
So someone hit me the other day. Fortunately there was no real damage to my car, only some light scrapes on the driver door and quarter panel that buffed off and a small dent that can be repaired with paintless dent removal. The rear wheel did get hit too and like the body there was some small marks that buffed off for the most part. The insurance company wrote to have the wheel repaired, but what I was wondering was if there was anything from BMW that says that you can't repair a forged wheel and that it would have to be replaced. My theory would be that any repair could change the structural characteristics of the wheel therefore making it less strong. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure that the M2 wheels are forged. Some materials say they are, others say cast. Would love to have solid confirmation one way or the other.

Thanks. I decided not to push the issue with the insurance company.
