Biggest improvement is the gauges since many users reported difficulty in reading the old guages in certain weather conditions. Good to know BMW are listening.
As for angel eyes, tail lights and seatbelts, they are nice-to-have upgrades but not necessary. This is a driver's car, that's where the focus should be. |

Not too upset about having my 2016. Think I'll move my LCI deposit to a CS list and hope it comes in manual.

Not sure why all the drool over the digital cluster. Who looks at their cluster anyway and if so for what? I have my little center digital cluster set to show my speed and that's all I look at. I've only had the car a week and have driven in varied weather conditions. Never had an issue reading anything on the cluster. Digital reminds of a Chrysler or something.

What's odd is there's no detailed mention of the updated instrument cluster in any of the LCI press release articles. The only reference to it anywhere is this pic.
I have doubts it's digital. |

In summary, most of the pre-LCI owners like theirs more, and most of the LCI owners-to-be like LCI more.

I'm slightly disappointed at the move towards digital gauges, but it does give scope for additional features, like oil temperature.
I wonder if the dials change colour depending on the mode (Comfort / Sport / Sport+) etc. |

I would love to have the LCI gauge cluster as that is really the only thing I do not like about the 2016-2017 model. On the other hand it looks like the rest of the interior changes are downgrades.
Headlights are nice but I wouldn't say I like them better than the pre-LCI ones. I feel something is lost with the hexagonal shape, but it does look cool. I HATE the new taillights. Glad I won't be tempted to spend money to swap those out. I would love the M seat belts, adds a little extra "pop" to the interior.

^this. It looks very similar to the black dash I have in our 5. If you look at the picture closely you can see the 'holder' for the needle

I think people are confusing outside temp with oil temp.... still no temp gauges I can find and still no M drive or M drivelogic for the gearbox. Nothing to write home about...

The M2 LCI has no digital gauges, they are still analog but illuminated from the back if ignition is on. You can't change the content of the gauges nor adapt their looks to driving modes. The only digital part is the lower area as with pre-LCI. The picture attached might clarify the issue.

Nothing that would make me change mine. If I change then for the CS.
