I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to do the rear CF spoiler if I'm not going to do any of the front splitter stuff. Does the CF spoiler just stick on top of the factory painted one? Or do you have to fishing-line the factory spoiler off and then tape on the CF one in its place?

My understanding is that it replaces the factory lip.

I'm trying to get the carbon fiber 'highlights' just to make the car stand out a bit more...

I'm feeling the same way, but if the CF rear lip is larger than stock, I don't want to upset any delicate balance of aero the car might have from the factory. They recommend doing the CF spoiler and the front CF chin simultaneously, but who knows how much of that is BMW / M gmbh just trying to make more money off of us?

The CF spoiler not only makes it stand out more, it also gives the car a more aggressive stance.

The factory gurney flap does need to be removed. The whole process is tedious. So unless you're really good, have a professional shop do it. No one wants gaps between the trunk and ends of the spoiler.

As for the aero balance, I don't detect a hint of more down force from the bigger spoiler at any speed. You don't need a splitter to compensate.

BMW offered very similar CF trunk lip on 135i. they never mentioned anything about the front then.
From the look of it, I really doubt MP front splitters do much for aerodynamics anyways.

I do like the way the side blades look however.

It's all in the marketing.

Congrats!

Perhaps a silly question, what does LCI stand for?

Thanks, gtaM2! Btw, I notice that you are in GTA, lol. Whereabouts?

OP, where did you get the blackout grills from? Is that an OEM part?
