Got an amazing deal on a barely used M2 !!

Well I was pretty much all set to order an 18' Mustang GT PP. However, last week I found a guy in my neighborhood that was selling his 2016 BMW M2 with only 2700 miles on it!!! He Lives in Canada and has 2 cars here in San Diego, a BMW M2 and a Porsche Carrera GTS. The M2 was in storage at "The Vault" here in SD. He told me it wasn't all about the money and he preferred sellling it to a car enthusiast.

The M2 has the amazing CQuartz ceramic coating applied and its the awesome Long Beach Blue Metallic color. He had it listed for 60k and I ended up getting it for 50k !!! remember it has only 2700 miles on it !!! along with a warranty & full service. This guy really took great care of the car.

I drove both the M2 and a 17' Mustang GT PP and both are amazing cars but with this insane deal I had to go with the M2. Also in my opinion the M2 drove way better and the handling wow wow wow!!! The fit & finish is far superior in my opinion as well. And when I went online to configure an 18" Mustang GT it came out to around 50k when it was all said and done.

All in all, both the Mustang GT and BMW M2 are amazing cars. This was an offer that for me was too good to refuse.

You made the right choice in my opinion.
I recently rented a mustang GT, I put over 2000 km on it driving mountain roads through northern British Columbia.
I don't believe this car should be in the same league as the M2.

Night and day different car.

Although the GT had a line lock feature which is absolutely a riot to use, especially on a rental!!!

Thanks !! yes I'm so happy to be an M2 owner !!! This car is amazing. My only gripe is with the horrid hard to see gauge cluster during daytime driving.

After seeing the 18' upgraded TFT gauge cluster I wish there was a way to get a similar upgrade!! I'd even be happy with some type of a black vinyl M gauge overlay with white numbers lol

You saved a good buck on the car. Not hard to justify ~$1500 on the upgraded cluster.

FYI the new cluster is not a giant screen.

It's just white needles and white text on a black background. The only "TFT" part is the same section in the middle and below the gauges, just like on your car.

How did you get the price down? you should teach me some basics of negotiation.

The Original Owner that sold it to him also owns a PC GTS as his 2nd "play car", which, in Canada, the PDK version MSRP starts at CAD $142,050 before any options. Decently optioned, that Porsche was probably $170K...doubt he cared much about giving the OP a $10K "discount" if he thought he was a hassle free buyer and a fellow "car guy". Sounds like OP was right guy in the right place at the right time. Good buy OP!

Yes and the guy is wealthy and told me "It's not about the money." He wanted to sell it to a car enthusiast. Besides he was super nice !!! He also let me drive his 17" Porsche Carrera GTS as well. WOW what a car that is!!

Yes sir you are correct and thank you!!! It just came down to location and timing. In addition the fact he was super nice made it all pretty amazing.

You mention warranty and service... did he have some transferable service contract? Because that normally is lost on a purchase that was not done at a BMW dealer.

I was just going to say the same thing. Starting in 2015 the included maintenance does not transfer to new owner on 2-series. Not like you wouldn't have gotten that car for the price but just something to be aware of.

If I saw an M2 listed for $60k I wouldn't even call, thinking there is no way they would go down to $50k.

Congrats!

I'm on the same boat, mine had 6.8k miles, and it came with all the M-Performance pieces, including exhaust and coilovers under MSRP Congrats!
