Same here; he is correct...I noticed this when testing a M2 manual vs M2 DCT. But in the end I choose the manual and accepted the drop in rev's and extra turbo lag.

So the M2 CS is not going to be unveiled until March 2018? Is that correct?

I thought that was questionable at this point. I think two rumors were swirling around.

1. Orders open in Jan, with production beginning in march
2. orders open in March, delivery staying in summer/fall of 18

Either one of these seem like an announcement around November would make sense.

Hoping it's going to be revealed this autumn and on sale next spring

That seems to answer that. It may be best that they are taking more time to work on the car.

Any chance that they would launch the production ready CS, and a rolling chassis of a GTS at the same time?

Unlikely I'd have thought if GTS isn't coming until 2019
We've seen plenty of CSs on The Ring but no GTSs?

Any other rumors out there referencing an adaptive suspension on the CS? That seems like a substantial suspension change. It also seems like something BMW would to use to separate me from m3/m4.

If they give this car 431 HP which is contrary to everything that we've read so far and if that power does not mess up the balance of the base car, it would be extremely hard to resist.

If BMW goes ahead and makes the car with a manual transmission and some weight savings, it would be impossible to resist.

I really don't care about the seats, the gauges etc. etc. Heck, I don't even mind the sound of the S55 as long as it is some sort of improvement over the base M3/M4. I just hope that for once, BMW makes a car that does not make any performance related compromises.

Just my observation...the car getting sideways had different color wheels than the one that stayed planted. Could be two different cars. Or testing different wheel tire combo.
Or, possibly, the driver was testing the behavior of the M2 past the limit of adhesion. Maybe they're making some suspension tweaks so that loses traction 'gracefully' as the limits are exceeded.

Yes, alongside DSC tweaks for the new power delivery and suspension.

That much power does not mess up the balance of the base car. I can attest to that, at least on the street during "spirited" driving.

Any chance that the CS is more of a "tuners"delight. Give it all the things it needs to be great, but sell it detuned so that it officially didn't step on the toes of the m4 variants. Everyone knows how easy it is to get power from the S55. Paired with the proper suspension from the factory and it could easily be an amazing car.

Would appear there's to be an M2 Competition Pack before the CS hits. As the article says, this is great news for the CS, as it'll have to be clear of the comp packs undoubted bump in bhp over the stock M2.

Could be. We saw the CP seat belts on some official BMW websites when they updated them for LCI and somebody said they should be available from October?
Maybe BMW will spill some info during Frankfurt Motor Show.

It's refreshing they are adding a couple new colors, but it would be nice if they offered a different blue (san marino perhaps?) to differentiate it from the base M2. I am not an orange/red car guy, though I'm betting that will be the color of choice just because it is different.

M2 Competition and M2 CS are two different names for the same car. BMW couldn't settle on the name until just a few months ago.

I don't buy this, the CS has been confirmed in a previous official leak and has pretty much 99% been confirmed by BMW M division. I don't think an M2 with an S55 engine would be being tested as a comp pack and only charging comp pack money to upgrade.

And are these just your personal choice of colours you'd like to see or have you an insight into something we dont?
