DSC Off - Is it REALLY off?

All,

When you press and hold the DSC button for 10 seconds or whatever it shows as off. Is it truly off as in it's not doing anything at all? I have my suspicions that it's not actually completely off.

FWIW - this wouldn't be all that strange. Porsche ESC doesn't fully turn off in some models regardless of what buttons you push.

Thanks.
Tim

For me it does! It spins the tires pretty well and the backend kicks out when really pushed.

I agree....once you get the slip angle too far ( 30% ish ) it activates to bring it back...curious to hear from some drifters.

No this is incorrect. I drift with the car and you can make 180/360s donuts whatever you want or don't , you're on your own.... IF turned totally off. 100%. Not kidding!

No electronic interference whatsoever....

They're talking MDM or?

Cheers

Nuh uh.. Maybe in Euro MDM..

I still don't get how people are confused about this...

There's only these modes.

Comfort, Traction ( MDM ), Sport, and Sport+ ( Which has MDM active as well ), as well as Traction Off ( DSC OFF )

You cannot get Traction ( MDM ) in regular sport.

Agreed. Got to almost 90 degrees at turn two at Laguna. Saved it and continued on. It’s totally off.

Had DSC completely off at the Michelin Proving Grounds this weekend on their Wet 1/2 Skidpad. Second video shows you can easily spin.....I did manage to make it around the entire pad in full drift though.

It is definitely off and does nothing, even if completely looped out on a skidpad.

Aye everything off
...only way to get rid of this annoying autoblip
But throttle is bit less responsive than sport+...
I got the strange impression of more lag; but not sure if it's just me.

Someone deep in the bimmercode thread said when they coded off some kind of clutch must be in to start car or something that rev match was off. Have DTC so I can't say for sure. Might want to dig it up if you care though.

Here you go.

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...&postcount=775

"I accidentally disabled Rev match by disabling "clutch in" when starting car. I forget if it's supposed to be toggled on or off as it's been a long time since I've looked."

So, not sure if that works, but noticed it in that thread. Please let me know if it works!
