BMW Brake Coverage

Can the track guys comment on BMW's willingness to replace worn out discs and discolored calipers from tracking?

Brakes are covered on the '16s, and for the '17s if you bought the Ultimate Care+ package, but what's BMW's stance on this?

Thanks.

I'm waiting on their response on miscolored calipers. I'll update here when I get a reply.

I would say its doubtful they will replace the calipers for discoloration as to them its likely to be classified under misuse rather than a defect-regardless of what the real truth on the mater is.

Nope. They know why the calipers change colors.

When I picked up my M2 I was given an option to buy coverage for the rotors and pads, I did not opt to buy it. You could at least try, just be up front with them, will not be a surprise to them. Guess it depends on your relationship a little too.

My front calipers have changed color as well. I doubt they will replace them as I am sure the same thing will happen again. You are ready for a big brake kit in the front anyway.

If only I was ready to drop $5k on a BBK.

How about just getting discs covered under the maintenance plans?

Yeah, the big brake kits are a lot!

I do know someone who had their rotors replaced without having the coverage. The only thing I can say is build your case and give it a shot.

What do you guys think the answer is on all this if you use the BMW M performance brake pads?

Getting my discs replaced. The key is to make a good relationship with your SA & technician and to be upfront. They'll help however they can.

As for the calipers, they said they can replace them one time and not all at once. So, will wait on that.
