I have hundreds of pictures of the M4 on my computer and dozens of "builds" on BMW.com, but the more I see of the M2, the more I think that is more of what I really want. I LOVE the look of the M3/M4 but I have an F30, and I've never gotten used to how big it is. The M4 is the same size as my car, which means it's also too big. I hope the M2 is as awesome as the M4, just in a lighter, E36/E46 sized package. |

Yep. This is going to be one to remember. This is the car most of us performance enthusiasts have been waiting for. Now the fat/bloated M3/M4 makes a lot more sense.

I agree it's not...However its damn close to its performance. The M2 wont match the 1M's performance though, it will be much better.

I feel like even 375hp is too little for a modern day M car, but I guess they have to keep the numbers under the M3 & M4. I'm interested in how they will balance price, features and performance to justify its position in the lineup.

Rumors always seem to ask more questions than they answer. I think the big ones are whether this car gets the lightweight treatment like an M4, and what the tuning potential for the engine is without going to great expense.

I'm not worried about the looks. BMW will not disappoint. I agree the weight is much more of concern to me.

My wife will take hers in Imola/Imola and 6MT. 2017 seems like a long ways off though (she won't buy a first production year car).
I'd be surprised if the M2 gets the weight reduction the M3/4 has. Adds to the expense and helps performance, two things BMW may not want to do with the M2...unless they need the fuel economy numbers. A detuned M3/4 motor would be interesting as it'd be no time at all before the tuners had that taken care of...

Traadee. This car is going to be a monstrosity with classic bmw touches like the driver slanted dash.
