Now that the M4 CS has been revealed, does anyone know when they are revealing the M2 CS? You would think possibly October-November timeframe of this year.

M4 CS will be released "late 2017" - let's say November. So an 8-month lead from announcement to production.
M2 CS will be a 2019 model, so probably will be produced after July 2018. For a similar 8mo lead, I'd agree with the October-November timeframe.

Late Autumn 2017.

Garage List
M2 CS release around October like M2, deliveries Q1/Q2 2018
M2 CSL/GTS release around October 2018 like M2, deliveries Q1/Q2 2019

That is what is rumoured and looking at this information, it looks convincing to be pulled off by BMW M. Of course, nothing confirmed until the press release drops. #waitinggame

There's no concrete information from any reliable source that an M2 GTS will even be built but yet you keep making statements like these above You may want to re-evaluate your sources friend.

I kinda like his sources ...

It's about time to start an M2 CSL/GTS rumor thread. I'm pretty sure this one started well before any acknowledgement from BMW that an M2 CS will be made

Anything new on the M2 CS apart from all the talk about how emissions will have a role in the M2 LCI having the S55 or not having an LCI with the M2 CS being the replacement for the base M2.

Anything at all ??

Video link appears to be taken down on the post. However, there's an additional photo of a M2 CS or LCI. Here is the link of where the photos were posted: http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98334

For some reason, the "M2" badge is blacked out along with some additional writing being blacked out next to it.

Thanks for posting this link.

The M2 part was interesting but seeing the other vehicles testing on the ring ( including an x2 or x4? ) as well as the Porsche GT2? and various other vehicles like the Vette and camaro made it well worth watching.

Several of his other recent blogs have glimpses of various stuff out testing, including the toyota/bmw thing.

I'm pretty new to this - what's the difference between the CS and the LCI? Thanks.

LCI would be base M2 with its regular facelift (headlights etc.)

CS would be a more driving-focused version that MIGHT get a different
engine and some other more lightweight bits and maybe
more aggressive tires.

This has been my understanding after the last couple of
months of constant updating of all the rumorthreads atleast

Lots of $$$,$$$.$$

The M4 CS is rumored to be priced at roughly 40% above the M4 Coupe.

I will eat a shoe if the M2 CS is going to be 40% over the M4 Coupe unless it gets a lot more than what we've seen testing so far. The M4 CS is expected to be 40% - 50% over the base M4 price.

The M2 CS's spec is not even close to the base M4 (Engine output, Carbon Fiber application, Interior, equipment, size). Not sure how they could justify such a steep increase in price. It could be between 25% to 40% over the base M2 at around the 70K USD mark.

Also, the base M2 does not have the ZCP package like in the M3/M4 does. The 35 HP increase in the M2 CS over the base M2 and the minor cosmetic changes we see on the test cars look akin to the ZCP package for the M2. That was probably why ynguldyn thought it could be called competition instead of CS.

When you look at it's competitors(Audi TT RS, Cayman S), they're all in the 60K USD range. Also, April sales numbers for BMW went down by over 9%. They have to stay competitive.

It's going to look like this... Well I hope, but I won't hold my breath for M Mirrors, nor GTS hood... But who knows, I could be wrong and BMW may get things right this time!
