It's mid september. Any update on the trunk spoiler? Even some info about how it will differ from OEM would be appreciated

Just found this thread. I have an Alpine white M2, and while I love the shape of the carbon M Performance rear spoiler, I'd rather have the exact same shape but in plastic, so it could be painted Alpine white to match the paint on my car. Any tips?

IND can paint the MP trunk spoiler to your body color. I got a quote from IND for painting the top and leaving the lower section in CF. Still considering this...

Other options are going with painted reps (see JBSpeed in the 2 series vendor forum) that are not CF, painted to color or having a local paint shop paint the spoiler. I had a JBSpeed rep on my 135, figment and paint match was great. The TIAG paint held up for 4 years then had spider cracks in the clear coat.

Thanks; I had thought about that but to spend all that money on the carbon fiber and then spend even more to paint over it doesn't make sense to me. I worry that the replicas won't have the exact same shape, which I love. I think I'm just going to leave the puny little body-colored one that's already there stay.

I like this idea and have thought of it myself. I'm not one to overplay the carbon look...

Was thinking a body matched top portion while the underside is left to expose the carbon fiber. With a carbon diffusor (titanium tips) I think it would create a cool look when looking closely.

I got the idea seeing -JLT-'s M3. Here is the pic that sold me. IND did the custom paint.

If I do this, it because I want to balance the MP CF rear diffuser, while retaining the AW when looking over the trunk lid.

Guys, why don't you just wrap your current spoilers with 3M vinyl? It'll cost less than 30$ specially if you do it yourself and you can easily remove it if you dont like the look anymore.
