What's the lead time sending one's own turbo in?

Any updates on magazines/media reviews? Seems like the car made it's rounds about a month ago, but no reviews yet.. Jalopnik asked what do you want to know about the Dinan M2 a month ago and no video, but put out 2 in a lesser time span.

Car is actually still making the rounds down south. It's a long press tour when everyone wants to drive the thing. The only article that has come out to the public thus far has been Digital Trends but we should be seeing quite a few coming out here shortly. Its made its way into about 25+ outlets to date so its just a matter of time. Unfortunately we have no control over the publishing cycle and how quick it makes through their internal processes. The Smoking Tire review will be released the first week of April we have been told and the Roundel article should be in the next issue would be the only ones I have heard relatively firm dates on.

At long last is right. I'm thinking Wednesday it will be done, lot's of labor involved.

If it blows me away, I'll create a new thread review. If I'm merely satisfied, which I'm sure I will be, I'll just tack on a post here. The tech at my dealer knows his shit so I know everything will be done correctly.

My mechanic can finish N55 FBO install, including turbo swap in literally 5 hours, and labor cost is insanely low...

Well we did pay BMW&Dealer 100k for the car.

Why stop now, might as well get the exhaust and intake to maximize the audible awesomeness.

My labor cost is insanely high. I think OJ paid Johnnie Cochran less per hour. But he is certified and the risk falls solely upon him and the dealer, at least financially.

Depends on the issue in reality. If the problem can be traced back to a non-Dinan/non-BMW part then the warranty would not apply.

100% I think they would fight you on an issue.

Imagine this explanation "well, we designed the kit around the temperature management of our intercooler and your brand x wasn't tested and isn't as efficient as ours therefore we aren't liable since the cooling properties are different".

And you are done.

Agreed, I personally don't like the fact that it involves so much cutting and trimming when other vendors have made larger/(maybe) more efficient units that are direct fitments.

It's worth the wait. Dinan claims 448 HP (2 more than the M2) for the 435i. I suggest upgrading your brakes if you haven't already.
