M2 Performance edition on the floor now.
Popped up at my dealer on Autotrader. It didn't say anything about perf edition in the listing. Figured someone backed out and they were looking for a premium. Not so, called and found it's the PE. it's on the floor and they'll sell it. GM isn't in yet.
I'm traveling, or I'd be at the door now. Alpine white. Go get it, someone. Tom Bush BMW in Jacksonville. On Atlantic blvd, not the one in Orange Park.

LOL, I guarantee you that the performance edition cars are a much harder sell than the regular M2's
Not many buyers want to pay more to get less. |

yeah, but people like unique cars. my car will be low optioned but I think I'd like the better stereo and power seats in a dd. the perf parts are sweet. suspension, exhaust, etc.
I'm a little cynical about the door jamb lights. don't they ALL say 1 out of 150?

Unless they've already owned a Mustang Shelby GT350R.
Or the suspension or the exhaust... |

Don't like those answers? Then try resale. Genrally speaking, OEM cars retain their value much better than comparable modified cars. Plus, some people just prefer "from the factory" and all that includes, such as extensive manufacturer testing and warranty.
I'm not saying one approach is better than the other - just that different people have different perceptions of original vs. modified. |

You can order the same stuff on a standard M2 and these M performance aftermarket parts are port installed anyway. None are factory installed. You will have them port installed if you order them with your regular M2.
Again, as it was already correctly stated, this "edition" is only about manual seats. I am sorry if you disagree with verifiable fact. |

Understand being able to order port-installed parts on the M2 that are standard on the Performance Edition from the factory. According to BMW, the Performance Edition doesn't arrive at the port without coilovers or the exhaust.

I find that surprising, but even if it was factory installed vs port installed, there is no way anyone knows that after the fact since it's on the Monroney sticker.

Mets / Yankees, DCT / MT, PE sucks / PE cool. Who cares.
My point here is to say for the person who finds it interesting, there's one for sale at a Jacksonville dealership. That's all.

Someone come and get it. The $50 license plate frame is also available at the parts counter for $35... Really does look great.

I'm still in NC and haven't swung by yet. If it's still there on The lot by Monday I may check it out. I'll still be getting my car, but still be cool to see.

I ordered one, and regardless of what all these haters say, I'm glad I did! Its a great car(we all admit this) and it's the way I'd want this car anyway! Order a base model and add the exhaust and the coilovers(which will be covered be warranty, unlike a aftermarket system) and you get to about the same price with labor figured in. And besides, it is a limited edition car. I bet if the interweb had been around in the stone ages you same guys would be talking crap about the E36 M3 Lightweight and how it's a rip off.
If it's not for you, you should just keep a comment to yourself. It serves no purpose to tear down the brand or to make fun of those of us with the money and interest in buying one of these. You are likely the same brain-trusts that didn't want the 1M because it's not a "True" M car. Did you buy a M4 GTS? take your pick. Plenty of good cars to go around. Thank Munich that we don't all want the same thing. I'm looking forward to getting mine....
