Continental SportContact 7
Originally planned on using PS4S now that the factory Pilot Super Sports were coming to an end, but decided on these as they seem to be a little better allround.
I'm running 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 and so far so good. Rides well and very little tire noise on the highway. Did some laps at a trackday last week and the tires held up well all day. I'm not an expert, but they felt very grippy and predictive on the track. Anyone else running SC7 with their M2? |

I'm about to replace my MPSS rears that are down to the tread wear bars. Don't do many miles, but can't stomach the rate of price increase on MPSS or even MPS4S.
CSC7 gets a decent write up and is a chunk cheaper so hopefully they'll work out.

The SC7 seems to be a bit better than both the PS4S and the Potenza Sport. It's also top of my list to replace my PSS.

So wish we could get these in the US. I need a new summer set, but don’t want to invest in 4S’s or Conti ECS 02 when I’ve had tires like those for six years and the 5s or something else is right around the corner.
Might mean I just run my Conti DWS 02 and RE-71RS for the summer & track and wait til next summer for some new rubber. |

Maybe I could track down a shop in Europe that’d ship them here, but guessing that’s not cheap. I’m also limited to 265/285/35/18 or 275/295/35/18 for my setup. Last edited by ZM2; 06-19-2023 at 10:16 AM.. |

Had the rears done earlier this year, later this week getting the fronts done. Savings are worth it over the MPSS that are on the way out.
Living in Scotland, I need better all-weather treads than MPSS, so this is a bit of a no brainer.

We had a few days of snow here in Denmark before I've replaced the SC7 with some Pilot Alpin 5s (245/35/19 all around). It was doable, but the Alpins grip a lot better.
One intersting thing about the SC7s now that I've been driving on them on track and the street - perhaps they grip a little too much? On B roads, I mostly drive with DSC OFF and I like being a monkey and sliding a little bit through corners. The SC7 can do that in 1st gear, but you have to be *really* on it, and there's a harsh snap when it corrects. As I remember, with the PSSs it was more enjoyable and they were more happy monkeying around. I'll go for narrower rear tires next time, I don't think 285s on a stock OG M2 is needed. |
