Sorry I missed that. In my PDF M2 Specification Guide (July 2016) there is no reference to it.. It has all the options listed except that grey band...

My ship docks 28/10/16 but not sure which port. I am in Melbourne too so guess we allow a week or so. BSM dual clutch. Good luck.

Yes confirmed today,BMW Australia no longer offers the tinted band on the windscreen.

Seeing dealer first thing Monday, will have to be a large inducement for me to take the car.

I use it everyday. I love the extra light in the cabin, almost always have it raised to vent air in.

I think it comes down to whether you're more an open air type driving person or not. I'd have bought an M2 convertible if it were available.

Meet the dealer today,as expected car did not get Driver Assist.dealer informed me 40 cars were made with this problem, you can not order a car now with a tint band on the windscreen.

Dealer made a reasonable deduction offer to take the car,but I decided to take a reduction on a new car and tinted windows, also the car had come with Continentals. So maybe will get Super Pilots next time.

BMW Australia also came to the party with a November build slot.

They had the car on the showroom floor when I turned up ,was hard declining it looked magnificent ,after I decided to declined the car they sold it 3 hours later for a $1000 more than I was paying.

Will seriously piss me off if mine comes without Michelins. I thought the M2 had a bespoke Michelin tyre? Has anyone tried to make the dealer commit to Michelins?
I doubt it'll come with PS 4S, according to the Press Release Europe gets them in Jan but not all sizes. Not being released in the US until March.

Nothing bespoke about the MPSS on the M2.

I guess we are on the same boat!
It'll be in the docklands ports, whether its DP world or PATRICKS.

Good to see a fellow member on the CARMEN.

Which dealer may I ask?

Symes BMW Bendigo where I also bought a 2008 M3 (4-door) and 2012 135i M coupe. M3 was sold in April and now the 135i (listed on Car Sales) is going when the M2 arrives as we move to one car only.

For those with a car - is the driver dead pedal aluminium like the pics online or black plastic?

I thought it was aluminium and an OK match to the M pedals. Seems there is a M dead pedal available too.

See here: http://www.motorama.com.au/blog/buye...r#.V_TnDfl97uU

A car with a build date of 09/2016 and MY17 is older than another MY17 with a build date of 08/2017. Also MY dates can span more than a year at the end of a life cycle. Also some updates (software, parts etc) are made within a MY and these are from particular build dates (e.g. Apple Car Play, NAV, Cluster lighting, needle sweep)
But yours won't have a build date of 08/2017. Therefore it will have the same equipment and software as mine (excluding options), because it will be built in the same MY period. Changes for MY17 (Aug 2016 on) like CarPlay, iDrive 5.0, HVAC control changes etc were known on this forum in June. What makes you think your car will be different from every other car in the same MY period?

No worries, was just wondering if you had some secret squirrel insider info there!

Am I the only one who didn't have a problem with the gauges? They look just like the e46 M3 gauges, and I never heard widespread complaints about them.

Owner of the car in the second picture might see some improvement by applying some windex and a cloth to the plexi in front of the gauges. Unless they haven't even removed the pre-delivery protective sticker...

Not sure why, as the 1M was similar and pretty sure the 1M stayed illuminated if the DRLs where on (can't recall for sure). Maybe is more a reflection on the plastic as usually have anti-reflective surface?

I am sure you could code the dials to stay illuminated all the time.
From memory, the 1M numbers are more white, while the M2 they're more closer to a shade of grey. It's this contrast to black that causes so many people the hassle.

Personally while driving, I've noticed it only once, it really doesn't bother me.

Yep, can confirm the dead pedal is just black plastic.
