BMS Clutch Stop

Hi,

I'm trying to resolve an issue with my clutch stop install.

I'm having trouble getting it to start. It seems like the plastic is so hard that I can't get enough flex.

I've been emailing Terry Burger and he's telling me it can't be installed by hand and one has to mash the clutch pedal down to get it in. I haven't seen that in the directions nor heard that from anyone who has ever installed one.

I'm interested in hearing from other users about their experiences.

Thanks!!

I pushed it in with the clutch. You need to get it part of the way in and lined up properly though... I've heard of people breaking the clutch stop while installing it. try grinding down a little so it goes in.

I used a Dremel to make it slightly thinner - still very snug but able to push it all the way in.

I gave up and mine is sitting on the shelf. I’ve adapted my brain to the weird ass factory clutch. I think….

Sanded it multiple times then used a filed then used clutch pedal to mash it in.

I am on one washer only which is what I recommend, two at the most.

Don't want to mess up syncros! I got a weird feeling with my gearbox and two washers.

Did they change it? Installed mine 4 years ago and don’t remember having any problems getting it in. I put on all 3 washers and have had no issues since.

Same, Installed mine last year. Just has to use a little muscle and twist to push it in.

Mine was so oversized it was comical. Cut my hand F’ing with it based on all the comments like the one above.

Just use a little muscle they said….

I was going to create my own that actually worked but I’ve slowly adapted my brain to the weird ass clutch in this car that engages differently at different times.

The issues with clutch engagement are due to the Clutch Delay Valve, removed mine after 80K km and wish I'd done it a lot sooner.

Guessing BMS changed manufacturer for the clutch stop, like others mine was easy to install, have been using 2 washers without an issue.

I’ve read that on here, and beyond being super interesting, it totally lines up with my experience daily driving it. I’m adapting.
