Not really that bothered when they reveal it as we already have a pretty good idea what it looks and goes like, TBH I would buy one if it looks almost identical to an M235i with quad exhausts different wheels and slightly wider wheel arches, which is probably what it will look like anyway, just waiting on a price and how much better it drives

We've already discovered that the front aero is far, far different, and the rear design is far, far different. Side panels are bulged and front fender vent will be in place. It will be immediately identifiable as an M car from all angles. |

Correction: "these cars (M2 and M2 CSL)".

After further review, I do not think this Bimmerfile information is correct.
For one thing, a while ago, Jason (our very own trusted, straight shooting, Jason) has said US production starts this coming November, claiming this is what shows up on US BMW dealers computers. He has not backed off that. As well he shouldn't since it's still showing up today. My money, if I had any to spare, is on Jason. |

CSL = Coupé Sport Leichtbau = Coupé Sport Light construction eDrive is on its way. Next gen Porsche 2-seater models Boxster and Cayman go turbo 4-banger. Less weight, improved handling/braking, improved fuel consumption figures, less CO2 emissions. Feel free to connect the dots.

It's not about the "configuration" dots anymore. It's the "when it happens" dots that are important. Any "dots" you can supply in that regard would be genuinely appreciated.

If a true CSL model gets released it will need lighter chassis and other lightweight components. Personally, I'd never buy a 4 cylinder motor, not a fan. |

Funny how we complain and are frustrated with the lack of info, but as soon as something drops, we are all happy and then we start talking again. And we forget that a lot that has been revealed, we already guessed. We just get confirmation. And then there is another lull, and we complain. And then, and then...boom!!! The reveal!!!

I'm not sure what BMW's thinking is regarding 2 Series colors. The most exciting color (IMO because I have one) is Valencia Orange, but it is only available in the 228. As you move up the line, color choices become increasingly boring with the four choices for the M2 being the most boring of all. Why not Austin Yellow?

Looks like our information was right on the money! BMW AG must be scratching their heads on our forum. Dackel

I would love Tanzanite Blue or Azurite Black but doubt that will happen anytime in the first two years of production. A non-metallic red would be nice also. I prefer darker blues but it is 80% that I will go with Long Beach Blue.
