Non-Competitive Small group Lapping Days (Shannonville/Cayuga)
I usually host about 3-5 small (Less than 20 cars) non competitive lapping days a season. It will be a 2-3 hour session at Shannonville or Cayuga. Let me know if you are interested. Cost will be around $100. Would be nice to see some other M2s

Maybe a little off topic 3Si, but you wouldn't happen to have any contacts in autocross?
I've never tracked a car but am planning to with the M2, but want to get a better handle on the car with no cars around first as this is my first M and first RWD. Will definitely join you though once I get familiar with the M2. Any info appreciated |

I would suggest joining the BMW Car Club, the Trillium chapter is our local one and doing their advanced driver training weekends. I started tracking last year, I did one day with my dealership and one weekend with Trillium, I learnt so much from Trillium. With the dealership track day there was less training, with Trillium it was several skid pad sessions (including an AutoX set up) and an instructor on the track the entire time. Trillium also run AutoX events in Brampton, I don't have experience with those though. I'll be joining Trillium for 2 weekends this year, the first with my 228i and hopefully will be able to end the season with my M2.

I would be interested. Cayuga is a great flat, safe place at the beginning of the season for me to learn a little bit about my car.
I find that the Trillium ones are great. Nothing like having an in car instructor at Mosport. That said, Cayuga is a great place to shake off the winter rust.

No dates yet, will be setting them up in a couple months. Going to wait until the weather settles down.
First timers: As mentioned above, Trillium is good. I started with Ian Law, they usually have their sessions at DDT (small track at Mosport). Apex also runs some great events with instructors. There's a new school called Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy that's run by a few of my friends (Colin and Jay), they are very good as well and already have their schedule up. Like what Seagull said, Cayuga and Shannonville are both pretty safe tracks and slow layouts. My group are all mature drivers, we are only out there to have some non competitive fun. None of us are really pushing our cars to its limit. Due to the small amount of cars we invite, there will be lots of space in between cars. AutoX: I've only been to one at the Gatorade centre in Brampton. It is quite different than going to a track. Some of the skills are transferrable, but it is overall a very different experience IMO. |

I will qualify for your requirements as based on my age one might consider me mature and I have plenty of track days under my belt especially at Cayuga. For me, this year will be track days to learn the car itself and what better way to do it with fellow M2 owners. Keep me posted. |

My preference would be Cayuga in early June

Count me in! I have a few friends that are also looking for track events this year. I've been to a few events in the past that were poorly run, so we are looking for a group of mature drivers. Track experience ranges in our group. List of cars likely to come: e92 m3 (me), Mazda Miata, 997 911 Turbo, M235i |

Will try to host one at Cayuga later this year. But with our limited number of cars as we are a small group. The cost might not make sense compared to other bigger events.

3Si, let me know if you are putting together any track days in 2018, as I would be interested in coming out.
