Very nice, that guy in the Gt3 probably didn’t like you very much at every corner and every breaking area.

Actually the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. They have been in storage for a while when I've abused some R888, some MPSC2 and some Nankang AR-1. Currently looking for a set of rims to put TrofeoR on this year.
The guy in the GT3 was great. Had a chat and he had been driving all day and as you can see he wasn't 100% focused, missing apexes and so on. If he had focused I hadn't had a chance to keep up. A crazy sidenote, I was a bit lazy and didn't lower the tyre pressures and during the above stint the pressures was up to 3,2 bar. Nooooooot optimal to say the least... |

You running stock intake and filter?
is the car stock? what was the temp outside, how long was your track session? So many variables difficult to say i would think? EDIT : 3.2 BAR is insane. i start the day off at 2.0 let it warm up a little put it back down to try and maintain 2.5 warm.. |

Car is all stock drivetrainwise. It's got Öhlins R&T and Performance Friction PFC08 added only. The outdoor temperature was around 13 degrees celsius, so pretty cool. It was a pretty short session. The intake temps rose quickly on the straight every lap but dropped back quite quickly in the twisties. |

It looks standard to me, normal for it to pick up like that when on WOT... The PSS's are really surprising, they dont like the excess heat though i ripped chunks of mine off at the second session.. i posted pics on a seperate post.
Do your brakes fade at all? Im fiting braided lines and SRF liquid next week, but keeping pads for now as they are under warranty in switzerland and BMW replaces them for free |

With semi slicks I get a slightly soft pedal after a long hard stint with yellow Pagids. So not happy about that. I now run on PFC08 which seems to take high temps just slightly better but even after added (albeit simple) brake cooling (the cheapo Porsche GT3 scoops) I don't feel it's 100% trustworthy for longer stints. Dark brown instead of blue calipers of course now |

How high does your oil and water temp go with the stock cooling in 20-25 C and 30 minute sessions? My M2 build (will start a build tread here soon) is starting now and I am thinking about changing the IC, oil cooler and maybe the radiator. I dont want my car to go limp on warmer days, even though they are quite rear here in Norway...
Nice driving by the way. |

First year I kept an eye on oil and water temps with the phone app Torque but after some trackdays where the temps never ran away I stopped and has since then relied only on the built in temp meter in the car instrument cluster (non LCI). This year I've started including the temps in the logs/videos but it's stil cold weather. Tuesday it was 10-15 degrees celsius, 15 minute stints at really full attack on some stints and oil kept under 120 degrees celsius. Not very useful information, we'll see later in the year how it works. But surely there are many on this forum that have pushed their cars hard in hot weather and know what to expect?
Here are two videos from Tuesday, at the Sviestad track outside Linköping: Last edited by MagnusT; 04-27-2018 at 12:58 PM.. |

It was a 20 minutes session with hard enough drive for me for the first time on this track.

According to the manual the M2 use 0-30 01 Longlife oil, but I am thinking about using the same oil as the M3/M4 (0-40 01 Longlife) since I will use mine quite a lot on the track and it will be a little better at very high temps. I will also change the oil quite often. I am also considering a bigger oil cooler, intercooler and maybe radiator. I am also checking out to find a nice oil catch tank.
