BMC filters come pre-oiled, bet that's the problem. Try changing back to stock air filter see if cel persists.

Yeah we checked all that. Code showed the car was running lean. They reset the adaptive driving memory and it seems to be okay. I didn't drive very far though.

Oil on the filter screws with the MAF sensor on the intake which could cause it to run lean triggering the cel. Hopefully it doesn't come back on, but if it does and your stock filter is back in, maybe the MAF might need cleaning.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give some closure and mention the issue has been resolved. F87LUV got her CEL codes cleared and it does not seem to be re-triggering.

We have sold over 500 of these downpipes and we have never had a persisting CEL on any of them. Sometimes they briefly appear like I this case, but it has been a simple fix in every instance so far.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if the issue comes back.

Thanks!

What is the correct timing of install? Here is not very easy find a garage that is domestic with downpipe on Petrol because in Europe 95% of the car are diesel.

Thank you

Love how you said “for an inexperienced shop”. Have to tell you man if someone took 3 hours to change a downpipe. I’d be worried what kind of mechanic he is...
