It was a 100% NO for me. Too much like a "video game that can kill you" than a fun, spirited, and truly BMW automobile. There are plenty of people who will lust after the G87. I would guess most of them are either buying their first "M" car, or they aren't coming from an F87.

You seem to understand the visceral emotion of a vehicle that is terrific to drive. If that's the case, then the most important thing you can do is to drive whatever it is you're interested in. Sure, a dealer might not want to allow longer term test drives, but if you're a BMWCCA member, you can likely find someone that has the car you're interested in. Whatever you do, make sure it checks the "fun" boxes for you. And, you'd be surprised about some cars that don't necessarily look like they'd be fun, but really are... Good luck!
