No paint, just an orbital buffer and some polishing compound. I am thinking about getting some touch up paint at the dealer though. I'm sure there'll be a day when I'll need it.

Installed an ASD bypass cable and got it some new shoes. Car still sounds wicked as hell, and the stereo better.

On my way home from redelivery and noticed I have Sport Cup 2 tire on the drivers side front.
The original was damage in Austria and I was happy to see BMW replace the rim and tire when I picked it up, but didn't notice the compound. I'll be in for my 1200 mile service tomorrow and get it sorted out. |

Note: there is a protective film on the lip that needs to be removed before install. I've heard people saying that their lip came with scratches on it etc... but that's just the film. Lip was perfect after I removed it. |

Went to the Concours d'Elegance at Larz Anderson Auto Museum hosted by the Boston CCA Chapter. It was a great event and the LBB even took home the People's Choice for the Display Only group!

The bypass cable goes in between the factory cable and the ASD amp. When you see it you'll notice it's essentially just a loopback cable. Cable installation takes like a minute. Just move the locking lever and pull. Removing the trunk lining takes a few minutes. You have to remove the left panel and the plastic threshold plate at the trunk opening. Former has like 3 plastic rivets (have to fold down the seat to get to 1) and the latter, 4 I think. Take your time with the weather stripping. The whole job took maybe 15 minutes, and that's because I was on a conf whole time. Here's a thread with some details, but I didn't really need it. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1253955 Cable is better than coding it out. Easy to reverse, too. If you're talking about the shoes, go to the Puma outlet 25 minutes from my house and give them 50 bux. Assuming you have the link for the cable. Company is in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Looks incredibly shiny, and I'm happy to see yet another Bay Area owner.
All I did today was email my CA to see if my car had been bumped up from it's original W37 production slot... it hadn't You need to update your status by the way... still says you're on a waiting list.
