Yes that is correct.. BMW has put together this model instead of 150 base M2. It only needs to matter to 150 people so I doubt they are worried about buyers being lined up . . Dealers have been foisting M performance parts loaded cars onto customers all along anyway. I would imagine that the M performance suspension is the item that sells the least out of the M performance catalog. The upgraded suspension is the biggest single change to the car in this package so... i certainly agree that this is a way to either .. 1-move some M performance parts and reduce costs per part by making a larger production run or selling off inventory 2- increase awareness of M Performance parts in the marketplace and among fans/enthusiasts by getting more cars on the street 3- increase profitability on a sale ( for the dealer ) as the M2 is a low margin vehicle in stock form. |

No, they are in fact marked priority 1 customer sold. The rest are priority 2 and 3. all 150 have already been allocated to dealers. 2 have been delivered to customers so far as they are now being released from port.

Sounds nice in theory but with people still waiting for a regular M2 in some areas, I expect this M2 PE limited to 150 will sell out quickly.

Its an allocation showing up in the dealer inventory. As its not customizable might show up anytime.

2014 Shelby Gt 500 guy looking at M2 M
Hi All
New guy on this auto site. I purchased a 2014 Gt 500 new in 2014 and I have learned to track it at Fontana AAA speedway where no M BMW models that are OEM can hang with my times. With it's OEM GY F1 OEM Tires. Unfortunately, the 2 Gt 350R that Shelby put it's name on cannot hang with my time either. And I'm not the greatest driver, I just found the limits to this car. People say slow is fast. I found that slow is slow. Smooth is fast. Sure it has torque and power, but people think it's a "straight line car". But once the GY heat up to 150 degrees, they can stick. However, I still think the M series is a pretty cool all around performance car. I was looking to purchase a limited production Series 1M until the limited production M2 M was introduced. I think BMW has noticed that the Series 1 is bringing prices of more than $10,000 above what they were new. Even with 50,000 miles on them. The thinking here is that if BMW creates another much more limited model, they can create the frenzy needed to ask over the MSRP. Much like Ford did with the Shelby 500 (10k-20K)and now the 350R (25k-60K). Chevy did this with the Z06 and now the ZL1 , Hellcat, ect..... Which are now sitting at MSRP or less. And outdoors, not in the show rooms. Unfortunately, not all the "newer" cars are 2005-6 Ford GT40. That car has doubled in value minimum. $250,000 plus today for base model. Heritage beyond $450,000. The big difference from the cars mentioned above is that the ZL9 Drivers option is an option on a M2 model. Not an entirely new car. The Series 1M was just that a Series 1M. The Ford GT 40 was a GT40. Not an option on a sports car base model. Either way, my first choice would be a M2 with the ZL9 option if it warrants the price in performance enough from the M2. I will track it. Sorry about the rant. Steve |

I think the point of the first two paragraphs is that BMW wastes a LOT of time with all that engineering of the steering, suspension, brakes, chassis, differential, ergonomics, etc... all you need is horsepower and sticky tires

Nope. Just has some M PERF parts on it. Over priced black grill. I can't believe more peeps are not just plastic dipping the front grill. You can dip it in any color or shade of color you want. Well, almost any color.
