Why not the coupe???

While I love my M2, the Alfa is pure sex though!

This comparison makes no sense to me. They are completely different cars, and in Canada at least, they don't compete on price....Alfa starts around $20K CDN more than M2.

This is my M2, next to my buddies 4C...

The 4C is hot - I really wanted to test drive one when I was in the market for a new car, but it wasn't possible due to a very controlled supply of cars.

Also seems a bit strange in terms of comparisons to me, but there's a lot of eye candy in this video.

That's an odd comparison. Not that it matters but I suspect better value retention for Alfa due to limited production unit numbers.

Next up Toyota Camry vs Ford F-350

Well they are both track-ready cars, have DCT, and have about the same price and performance.

Thanks!

Trust me, if the cops here didn't enforce the front plate laws as much as they do, I wouldn't have them on my car either...totally agree they detract from the looks of pretty much any car

You must have front license plat, sure, but why place it on the side? its looks awful, especially on the alfa...

Personally I like the offset plates, if I'm forced to put one one and don't want to drill my bumper.

On the M2, because of the size of the local plates, it overhands the bumper and makes it look like the car has buck teeth.

This is what I see....and I can't un-see it

Sorry for the off-topic question, but how on earth did you manage to get negative reps?

I agree, never drill the bumper. Dont get why we dont have any other "OEM" options...
And how strict are the police with the plates there? I will just put a small magnetplate or a sticker with my licence nr

In Toronto, in my experience at least, they are quite strict about it. I posted about this in the "what did you do to your M2 today" thread, but I got stopped on my way home from the dealership after picking up my car. Got a warning for the not having a plate...officer specifically told me that the warning has been registered in their system, and next time it would not be a warning

BTW, I also understand now that some Toronto police cars are equipped with auto scanning cameras that look for known license plates/numbers, which will notify the patrolling officer without them having to manually input the plate number

I agree the plates look terrible, but, I think it is all about size and placement. With a euro style plate on the M2 it looks ok. Perhaps the US should follow the euro style plates (like we can) and there would be less of an issue. The Alfa on the other hand ...

Starting price in Canada for 4c is 70.5k.
M2 starts at 63k. Thats 7.5k gap. Not that big actually.
These cars are for different purposes.

Daily would be the M2 and if I had to have one track car it would still be the M2. Down the road the track support for any M car is insane. For an Alfa? Not so much.

You're right....I could have sworn when I looked last, the 4C was retailing for closer to high $70's...maybe it was after I'd priced them out with as much comparable equipment. Or maybe Alzheimer's finally setting in
