BMW certainly won because you are still giving them your money. Congrats on your new purchase!

My dealer told me today that he got word from BMW that there would be no additional allocations this month. The first group of custom allocations for non-HEA cars will be made known on April 5.

Yup. The rumor is BMW are dragging their feet on 2016s to try and push most people into a 2017 M2. Not sure why. Can't imagine it has to do with reduced maintenance, but if their margins are already thinner on this car then possibly.

This makes sense as I'm #1 at my dealer here in Canada (small volume dealer) and they won't be given information until the end of the month (literally spoke to the sales manager yesterday when I inquired).

Just last week, my SA was pretty sure customer allocations would be available this week.

I heard the same from my dealer. April 5th is next batch of allocations released.

Long time lurker here. Just to chime in: Above updates consistent with what I am hearing as of this weekend as well. I am #2 on a wait list in the DC area, and believe only 7 cars (!) were allocated in the March run for this area. Sounds like next allocation run will be announced first week of April, like the others said here ...

So you're saying he said the only cars allocated for March are HEA vehicles? that just for your dealership or all dealers?

Apparently production will not be unlimited (which means ....limited ) until 2017?? ..

He told me that "West Coast allocations" for March were limited to 79 HEA cars.

April is the month the dam breaks.

Or the trickle begins, more likely...

Isn't 17 LCI? Maybe they are trying to save you from yourself

Production After July '17 I believe.
I'm actually happy with my #7 spot. I'll let all the dust settle and the timing should be perfect . Even if they don't get around to me until this winter (lmao) which is what a CA speculated from a competing dealer with a similar amount of allocations as my own

OK, full disclosure I haven't read all 21 pages on this thread so apologise if I missed an answer to my question...

I have one of my dealer's 2016 allocations - deposit given and signed quote sheet received. So I am nowhere near production but my understanding was that I would get my car sometime in 2016 (likely late summer or early fall) - with the completed sales agreement to come when my order reaches a production slot. The notes I have read on this thread seem to suggest getting an allocation formally assigned to you is not a done deal that you get your M2. Which is it?

Do you have a production number?

Edit: you should talk to gthal, I believe he's buying in Hali as well and has better info.

Edit 2: I'm assuming you have one of the three allocations for Halifax this year?

Yep. 2018MY points to LCI on only the components that are shared with the regular 2 series.

Thanks. Yes, I will drop gthal a note... I think I have seen his AY M4 around town.

I do have a production number (now... had to ask them what it was), but no production month yet... and yes I am one of the three in Hali for this year. Looks like there will be several LBB M2s around the Maritimes soon!

I'm all in for a meet!! Even better, why don't all of us get out to a track day at the same time with the BMW Club. I try to get out as many days as I can so this is even more of an excuse

If not, coffee/lunch is fine too

Hey guys. I'm in SF Bay Area. Did anyone know if the closest dealer with an M2 allocation that isn't out of control? If be willing to go out of state for a decent spot on the list. Thanks!
