New tires, TMPS issues...
Hi everyone,
I replaced my tires yesterday(pilot sport 4s), went a touch wider than stock(255f, 275r). Starting today, I would get a warning along the line of TPMS sensors could not detect pressure changes correctly. I reset the system and once it was happy everything seemed fine for exactly 5 minutes and then the same warning came back. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice for troubleshooting? Also, is it common for the TMPS reset to take 15-20 minutes? |

I think I found the culprit. I failed to realize the tires were at 38-39psi. I dropped the pressure to 35 and so far so good. Crazy how intolerant the TPMS system is.
It did hang at 49% for super long. Then shot to 100% in under 5 seconds. |

Why couldnt you just reset the sensors to current tire value?

So it works both ways apparently. High readings will give you a warning, low readings also.
My car is not used daily so it sat for quite a while and cooler temps (yesterday was raining and in the 70's rather than 90's) made them drop to around 32psi and was throwing a warning error which would not let me drive the car in Sport or Sport+. The car would automatically go to Comfort and displayed a message saying to run under 80mph. Filled them today to recommended pressure and reset it and all back to normal.
