Nah. that car's nothing special safety wise. its chassis is actually kind of bendy compared to today's cars. to tesla's credit, the design is old af and it's one of their first cars. good but not great.

the 2 series is actually the more impressive/stiffer chassis.

this is my wheelhouse.

i could go on forever on excruciating specifics.

And to add to that, the car doesn't matter really at these kinds of speeds/impacts. Your body is going to be tossed around violently and your internals banged up. limbs will still fly in the interior as the car tumbles. Nothing any car could've really done better. The passenger cell here is still highly intact.

The video in the first post is not the same car as the pictures. One is RHD one is LHD. One is in the UK, one is in Germany.

Apparently the driver mowed down several trees before coming to a stop.

Also, according to someone in the UK, the plate looks like it might match the one at this Instagram site:

Given the high speed and following high energetic impact, the car itself looks remarkable good IMHO.

Anyhow, I would not repeat the scene although.

Watching the FB video of him doing the fly-by before crashing brought chills down my spine. I have an uncle that passed away several years ago doing a similar stunt and it just brought back a lot of bad memories (I didn't witness the crash, I just saw the after pics). I pray that this driver is more fortunate than my uncle and that he learns from such an awful mistake.
