M4 tires on M2?

Hello all,
My apologies if this has been covered, Searches yielded very little.

I want to know if stock suspension/stock wheeled(no spacers) M2 will rub when running the larger 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires that come on the M3/4.

Thank you in advance.

Best,
Nate

They will fit with no rub or other issues.

No, those sizes will not fit the M235i. Too wide and too tall.

Does anyone have pictures of this setup on stock suspension / wheels? Has anyone run the larger M4 sized tires on the track without rubbing? I'm thinking this will be my next tire size if there is no rubbing on the track. Thanks.

You should be fine with about any 265/35 - 285/35 sized tires on OEM wheels and stock suspension. Keep in mind not all tires are exactly the same width, etc.

See this post...

I also talked to someone who had 295/30s on the rear, stock suspension.

That's good to know because I'm cheap and it turns out M3 tire size is generally cheaper than M2 tire size.

Hey everyone, just want to throw this update out there. Yesterday I swapped the stock tires for Pilot Sport 4s in the M3/4 stock sizes. Much to my surprise I got some rubbing in the rear when cornering under load. Going to get the car on the alignment rack tomorrow...

EDIT: I failed to realize the tires were overinflated by 3-4psi. I dropped the pressure back to 35 and so far so good. Still going to get the car on the rack tomorrow.

Any pics of the 4S sidewalls? Are the sidewalls that much wider than the 255/275 35 MPSS star spec? TIA

Assuming 255/35 and 275/35? You should not be getting any rubbing in the rear. I am not with 4Ss in 255/275 but did go to -2.0 in the rear. Still shouldn't have any rubbing - stock. You could have them go to like -1.8 in the rear.

I'm using 268/285 Trofeo-R and it has some rubbing issue on track. I think Trofeo's are a lot wider than normal tires.

(you can hear the rubbing at 0:55 and 1:10)

A lot of the tires in that "extreme performance" category seem to run wide like the Dunlop Star Specs, Yokohama AD08R, Bridgestone RE71-R, etc. You can always see that the OEM stretched look is gone if you mount the equivalent tire size on the stock wheels.
