I do not think the reflectors are positioned there because the X5M and X6M are much taller therefore they need them to be viewed easily. M2 of course will be much lower.
That's great that there won't be any rear reflectors in that vent area.Will there be rear reflectors in another area of the bumper,like the M3 and M4?

Yes ... or new rear lights. There must be reflectors somewhere because the law wants that, especially in eu. Must be the same in the us?

Every new BMW has a separate reflector (aka not in the taillight housing itself anymore). It'll be the same in the US.
