Has this happened to anyone? I did a search but not finding anything. Checked fuses and all seem ok. Car is a year old and has 10k miles. This is just annoying.

Just started it this morning after is sat in the garage all night and no air comes out at all. Let it sit and tried again, still nothing.

Edit: I found this thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1264502

Unplugged and plugged the power to the blower and nothing. Didn't see any moisture or signs of water or condensation. Lame....

Resistors were a common problem on the E46s when I worked for BMW. Take it in to the dealer and put that warranty to use.

Yup. That's what I'm looking to do on Monday. They need to do the recall on the long bolt replacement as well. It's just 97 degrees in Florida plus the heat index so the timing stinks.

Sometimes electric motors have a dead spot on the coil.It has to just happen to stop just at the correct site for the circuit to be broken. Try using a vacuum cleaner reversed to blow air into a vent to turn the blower a bit. Then it may start back up!

Thanks. Was worth a try but no dice. I even have a Metro Vac-n-Blo so I know it was forceful enough to get it to spin.

Worth a try. Hopefully it's an easy swap out repair.

Yeah agreed. The dealer got it fixed. It was the blower motor resistor.

Hopefully this doesn't become as common as it used to be.

What does Blower motor resistor refer to? Is it just that, a resistor on the motor that can be replaced without buying an entire new blower? I had to replace one in my RS. It was $400 or so and was easy enough to get at. But a resistor would be a buck!

I think it might have been going for awhile as I recall the pulsating vibration but I didn't know what it was.

It looks like a pain in the buttock. Great reason for an extended warrantee LOL.My RS6 fan was pretty much in the same location with a similar contorted position to be in while fixing it.

Yup! I can tell also by fact that 1) my passenger seat was all that way back and 2) there was a nice stain from a dirty hand on the carbon fibre trim above the glove compartment.
