Though in the literature you linked to the 'hexagonal interpretation' relates to the description of the adaptive full-LED headlights. It seems certain in UK/Australia/Canada at least the standard "bi-LED" headlights retain the circular daytime lights, though not impossible it would be unusual for BMW to build a 3rd variant of headlight just for the US market.

Some of the literature for the full-LED lights also refer to the indicator light being LED (I think the eye-brow across the top of the light unit), description of the bi-LED makes no mention of the indicator (whether it's LED or retains a globe).

In the UK literature it only mentions hexagonal lights in the optional equipment at £795. Does that mean the standard LED headlights are round? I assumed all the LCI headlights were hexagonal as standard and the Adaptive ones were, well Adaptive and hexagonal.

Nantucket mentions back in post #565, scroll down to the SE model (page 9 in the same brochure) which shows the standard bi-LED headlights with the current round daytime running lights.

Not exactly, but I didn't spend $3000 and cut my roof off to save a few ounces.

So does anyone know yet if the hexagon LEDs are standard here in the USA?

We know LED headlights are standard, but are they just the angel eye LEDs or the new hexagon shape?

The hexagon-shaped "rings" are part of the optional adaptive LEDs which for the US are in the Exec Pkg for 2018.

It's been discussed in this forum on several occasions, including in this very thread both on page 14 and on page 26; I see you were part of the discussion but still not convinced. To that I can only suggest that we look at all the evidence in aggregate, starting on page 26 of this thread where there is a link to the UK 2018 2-series brochure (posted by Nantucket) which illustrates the standard bi-LED headlights with the traditional round corona rings (see the SE model) and the ICON Adaptive LEDs which feature the new hexagonal corona 'rings'. Then there is the last post on that page which has a screen shot of an info page about the Aussie model mentioning this as well (the hexagonal coronas being part of the ICON Adaptive lights). Finally, there is also some discussion in an older thread - check out the last post on this page by CanAutM3 - a Canadian info page also illustrating the two styles of headlights:

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1380933&page=6

The point is, there are two known types of headlights around the world for the 2018 2-series/M2 and you can tell from the US Pricing Guide that the ICON Adaptive LEDs are in the US Exec Pkg so if you don't get the Exec Pkg, you should probably expect to get the round corona rings similar to last year's corona rings, while you can expect to get the hexagonal coronas if you DO get the Exec Pkg. Unless, of course, as someone else suggested, there is a currently unknown third style of headlight created just for the US models, but even the US 2-series announcement is not explicitly clear:

"The main headlights can also be specified in adaptive full-LED form as an option, their prominent light graphic strengthening the dynamic and technical impression created by the front end. The familiar twin-circular-headlight look has a hexagonal interpretation, inspiring an even more precise and modern appearance."

I haven't seen that explicitly stated anywhere and all the evidence seems to strongly suggest otherwise.

I guess we just have to wait for the US LCI brochure. Or even bmwusa.com to update the "build your own" to the LCI. Wonder when that will be updated...
