Great render!

But i think the "vent" will be similar to the rear vents the X5M and X6M have.

Like this ...

Nice work!

Based on what we know at this point, this could be very close to the real thing. I wonder what SCOTT26 has to say about this.

It would be great if these were real vents on the M2, but I wouldn't be surprised if it will be the same as on the X5/6M.

I think a while back I posted in one of Artemis or Adem1534 threads first about the X5M reflectors but I think it's highly unlikely they will be in vents.

I'd agree on the "slightly smaller vents." Comparing the render side with the camo-ed side, The upper part of the camo-ed upper vent/reflector pocket crease appears to start somewhat lower than the rendered upper vent/reflector pocket opening.

Great render... I feel this a most appropriately aggressive rear styling element for the upcoming M2, whose introduction we await. I think this design element takes one's focus away from the currently wimpy looking trunk lid spoiler.

Yes it is, was just showing my friend this picture and told him the same thing. Also told him the car is begging for 295 rear PSS

Aftermarket folks may sell blackline reflectors as hot cakes.

I think the angle of the vent is slightly off this direction /\. Make them straighter vertically like || and I think you've got it spot on.

Interesting. But you should look at the back of the Vision GT car for inspiration.
Again study it but put it in a more realistic setting -example shrink down some of the elements to road car proportions.
I do not think the reflectors are positioned there because the X5M and X6M are much taller therefore they need them to be viewed easily. M2 of course will be much lower.

Yep. Will design will be very similar. Implementation will be more realistic.

One picky detail that I notcied, the curvature of the bottom of the vent actually leads into the rear diffuser next to the outer exhaust pipe.

Perhaps you can make a quick update, OP. Your skills are very good.

Here, you can see how the bottom of the vents connect to the rear diffuser. It should make the design look more cohesive, so the vents won't look like they are floating:

Hmm so a longer pair of horizontal lines into the vents then, interesting and great it more VGT like.

Thanks SCOTT26 always appreciate a steer. Just curious how many times have you seen the production car now, is it widespread internally (images) now etc and a few in the metal closed door viewing at shows did you mention before?

A brief explanation.

The M2 test mules (temporary) feature rectangular rear reflectors. It was pointed out that the same type of reflectors also featured on the 2015 X5M and X6M test mules, at similar spots. As we know, the production versions of the 2015 X5M and X6M feature rear reflectors inside the vertical 'side vents'. Hence, the assumption came into play that the M2 might get vertical reflectors too. Though personal I would prefer no vertical reflectors for the M2. We may even settle for black plastic inserts à la 1M, should the rear bumper vents serve no other purpose than widening the rear bumper (aesthetics).

So your comment could be good news.

That's good. I think the giant reflectors in the X5M/X6M are ungainly.
