Seems that some "///M Design Icons" boxes were not ticked for the M2.

The M-Specific seat is also not going to have any fans here either . . . .

I guess the "M Design Icons" tables rather illustrate what the BMW M designers and engineers have in mind versus what BMW bean counters impose in the end for budget and strategic (model line-up positioning) reasons.

Are they drunk? Cant believe they send this to dealers and dont deliver the features on the car.

They could have mentioned another M-Icon: Bespoke, high revving, natural aspirated engine with individual throttle butterflys for each cylinder

They should have also put at the bottom in fine print.
"Expect to tell customers I told you so when they question the basic specifications and they lose out again."

Looks like I'm in the minority here that feel like we are getting one hell of a car at a great price.

There are always compromises.

I was recently recounting to a friend how many items changed on the E30 M3 for 1991 when the US mandated airbags.

pop out vent windows in the rear became fixed.
$$$ Ellipsoid headlights were dumped for $7 Sylvania bulbs

Etc.

And yes.. the M2 is a great car at a helluva price.. It's an excellent successor to the 1M. If they were to decide to make it in a four door model as well it likely over time will turn out to be the second coming of the E36 M3 with regards to impact on the company. The E30 (in all variants) was an amazing car.. but the E36 really put BMW on the map in the sports car world.

True dat.

I bet that BMW M would have added a bunch of awesome things if they had free hands and budget but you have to draw the line somewhere, for the money I can't see a single competitor that give you the same package as the M2 does.

indeed.

$7 I quoted was the retail price at your local NAPA dealer. In order to purchase an ellipsoid headlamp you had to spend about $90-110 at a BMW dealer (note.. dealer pricing may vary based on your dealer markup from BMW recommended price)

there were aftermarket CIBIES and HELLA that were upgrades over OEM
