the true M died with S65
no real M engine, just pumped up N55/54s in all Ms...so boring...
it used to be a lot special to have an M car....those S54s....S65s...
now it's nothing different from audi's S models...sharing all similar engine platform, M2 M3 M4 M5 M6 X5m X6m, come on over let's swap engines around we all have the same shit
trend of bigger fenders, larger tires, same turbos with big power at low rpm to impress first 5 minutes of every single journalist...let's see if they are still impressed in a long run "true" ownership and after warranty...lol
no wonder my eyes are going to jaguar F types and C63 sedans...at least C AMG looks beautiful inside

3. The M buttons and customization like we know it from other M GmbH vehicles is not present in the M2. Instead, it is pre-set and you select various driving modes via the standard F-gen button near the shifter. Eco to Sport Plus, and Sport Plus is MDM. It also gives you the fastest DCT shifts.
2. Is the stupidest most lame excuse I ever heard. Good thing it was a closed door meeting.

3. Well, that's just disappointing. Sounds like NOT an M car. SMH.

Yeah, thats how it is on the M3/M4 as per my understanding.

Iirc you can set just the throttle settings to sport plus and leave everything else in something else, and you'd deactivate rev matching while retaining TC.

E46 owners said that the true M died with the E46. So there's that.

Imagine the M3/M4 with 328 mirrors... Case closed. The M2 is chock full of compromises.

No M mirrors, no power dome, no M buttons, no M stitching, a reworked N55. Should have just called it an M235is.

I had a chat with a KW tech the other day about the M2 coil overs... He was partially familiar with the project, but was only allowed to share limited details. He admitted that he didn't know for sure on the springs, but he said he thought they were about equally likely possibilities based on his view of the overall goals of the kit for the M2.

What springs does KW use? I highly doubt bmw would use different springs on the MP Gewindefahrwerk.

Regarding your questions: M2 has in Germany passive suspension, 100% sure. He doesn't know about the coilovers more than we do.

There will be no Eco-Mode available for the M2. Just Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus which activates MDM. As there is no adaptive suspension, this will only affect throttle sensitivity and steering.

AFAIK, M2 6MT:
- rev matching in Comfort Mode and Sport Mode;
- no rev matching in Sport Plus mode.

Mercedes lately has been doing well in general interior design from a cosmetic point of view especially on AMG models. Ergonomically, they have issues, but they impress the eye.

Has anyone on the F80/F82 been able to access the rev match setting through aftermarket software outside of the drive mode selector?

I think it's stupid how BMW and Porsche have decided to couple rev matching to the other driving settings.
