Financing and PCD

For those of you who financed (specifically those who did not use BMW financing) and did PCD did you have to close on the car far in advance of your PCD date? My dealer is telling me I have to close now and my car hasn't even left Germany yet. My PCD is tentatively scheduled for August 10th. Just seems a bit early to me and I was wondering if this is typical.

2 weeks ahead of time if doing BMWFS financing. Probably more if not.

I did about 2 weeks before with outside financing

How exactly does PCD work if you are trading in a car? Does that have to be traded to the dealer at the same time as financing, i.e. 2 weeks ahead of time as well?

If so that will probably make me skip PCD, because any savings I might have by avoiding delivery charge will be canceled by having to rent a car for two weeks...

My dealer said 2 weeks was a bit early, so 1 week ahead of delivery.

Thanks guys/gals...I'm pushing back with my SA for a slight MSRP discount or move me back to closing within 2 weeks. Either would make me happy.

My guy told me that the transaction has to take place at the same time....that being said...clearly my guy is trying to close a month before most have to for PCD...so...I'd bet like most things this is negotiable. If a trade in is needed...I'd bet you can contract to only add X miles in the next X weeks with no other damage etc...if they want to deal with you. But then again...these things sell so easily they may not be willing to fuck around on that. Who knows...but I'd say that's all up to the dealership.

and agree to pay them $1 a week rental or some such for the car until PCD.
