IND Roof in Northern VA

So I received my carbon roof from IND last week, but I'm having the hardest time finding a local shop in the Northern VA area willing to do the install. Does anyone out there have a recommendation for a good shop that might tackle this?

Here's a pic of the thing still wrapped. I did the 2x2 weave. I'll post pics once I find a place that can actually install it.

D&V Autobody will not touch it. These days they are hell bent on only doing OEM, as in, only as how the car arrived from the factory.

I stopped by to have them take a look at a CF diffuser adjusted to fit better and turned me away.

If you are in PA, I bet Autocouture Motoring in NJ would be willing to do it.

My friend is neighbors with the owner; I believe he will do such work for acquaintances or friends, but not for most people.
I think they had many problems occur with aftermarket installations in the past, things such as bad fitment or low quality products and they got blamed for them.

My personal experience wasn't so great, I had them repaint a bumper back in 2010-2011 (remove license plate holes) and had to return twice due to paint not bond correctly.

What do you do with your old roof when you get the cf one installed?

It's scrap or use it for target practice.

Well, I'll see if D&V is willing anyway and let everyone know how it goes. I've also tried Euro Pro's in Maryland, and they're willing, but they aren't really close. So we will see.

Sometimes you got to travel for quality (I brought my last car to D&V and I live in MD). I forgot about Europros.

The other option is to find a BMW certified repair shop (at a dealership). Hopefully they'd be able to install it.

Try LIP Collision in North Whales. Ask for Josh.

They have an M coupe out front which is always a good sign and do a lot of high end work.

D&V Autobody took on the project. The M2 is with them now. I'll post up results once they finish. So far, they've been very professional about the whole endeavor.

Sweet. May I ask who you're dealing with over there (You can send me a PM).

But they fixed it every time without question? I had some minor things come up on one of my previous cars after work was done and they took the car back, no questions asked.

I wish there was a shop that I trusted in my area to do this. I'd love to get this done. If I was still in Cali, this would be done.

Well, she sure looks good. D&V did what I would handily call a factory equivalent install. Took them exactly two weeks, but they did it right. Not a single mark out of place, and given the effort that what was done, that's impressive. Slight overrun in the cost compared to the estimate, but all told, within reason. There were a couple unexpected hurdles, there needed some minor trimming up on the excess material on the edges of the panel as IND ships it. Also, the shark fin area was not cut, and needed to be for wiring. I also had them paint the fin and roof rails black too. I'll post more pics this weekend. But, I'm very pleased.

Does the glass need to come out to do this?
