So Toyota is adopting some interior bits from BMW for the new Supra and BMW is adopting some fugly light design from Toyota on the "6GT" ; ) (really it's still a 5GT)

This car is definitely ugly, but the 6GC was never all that great either IMO. BMW if you want to see how to make a nice couple like sedan look to the A7. I'm BMW over Audi most of the time, but the A7 beats the GC easily.

The topic of Bangle will never be settled. Some loved him and some hated him. Very polarizing. To each his/her own. E39 = amazing E60 = mess That's just me. Some people like and even love the E60. But, here is what my eyes see: |

Yikes, I don't like the 6GC much either, but the A7 looks like a hunched back pooping dog with a front designed by a team that never met the folks that designed the rear. A horrible design. The A6 and A5 Sportback are both much better looking to my eyes.

Is this the 911 competitor ?
What is happening at BMW! Model naming convention has gone bonkers. The 8 is actually the 6, which as a model was only 2 generations in. During which we were told even numbers were coupes. Now it's a GT too or an active tourer in the 2. Inside sources were supposed to say that a smaller light 911 competitor was on the way, I thought the 6 was supposed to be it, if the huge 5m length 8 is the grand tourer. It's all gone a bit too far. Plus now there are about 5 levels of paying for an M car! M Perf M car with or without Comp Pack! M CS MGTS So these days if you save to buy your dream M car it's 4 tiers down! Below a GTS, CS and Conp Pack. Hmmmmm mmmm.

I think they've done a sterling job with this, the GT3 hasn't got a chance against this baby! I can't even imagine how good the facelift version will be when they get some light bulbs in the designers' rooms and give them a well deserved break to see their opticians. |

I don't get BMW's naming scheme. I thought I remembered reading on here that BMW is making the next 6er how it used to be decades ago; a smaller, sportier coupe/convertible. And then the 8 series becomes the big grand touring kind of car. Now BMW is going to have this thing be associated with the 6 series name while they are making the coupe/convertible smaller and sportier? That makes no sense.
Also, what's BMW doing with the headlights being connected to the grilles? I thought that was going to be phased out? The new 8 series has them unconnected, but the spy shots for the next X3/4 have them connected, and this car has them connected too. This started looking outdated as soon as the new 7er came out. It just makes the front end look too bulbous and round or something. Did they get rid of the split trunk? I liked that part about the outgoing 5GT, but I can't tell if this one still has it in these pics. Last edited by bobloblaw; 06-13-2017 at 03:33 PM.. |
