They should have kept the 5 nameplate, kept the 5 ride height, made the windshield smaller, and just have the fastback roofline. Plain and simple. Cmon BMW, I thought you learned this?

So they had time to design another ugly BMW that is in such a small niche of the market that it won't really affect BMW's bottom line, yet they don't have the resources to design an all new engine for the F90 M5?

Looks aside I never understood who this appeals to from a practicality point of view. Someone who wants more cargo room over a sedan but is willing to sacrifice said cargo room for a sloped rear glass? Maybee this is directed towards schizophrenics?

If someone wants a more sporty looking suv they go for an x6. Maybee this is for someone who wants a more sporty wagon? Unfortunatly that person does not exist. People like wagons because they are... Wagons.

how else are they going to justify a price increase in the GT if they dont move it up a number.

please god do not do this to the 4GC next. (yes i know you are already planning it but i beg you.... dont)

I personally think when it was originally created, it should've been branded as a 7 fastback, which is what it really is essentially. Like I said before, bring the ride height back down and reduce the bloat and it would've been far more attractive.

The current GT is ever uglier stock, but IMHO, with my modifications, looks far better than the new GT does, albeit the new one isn't M-sport. that ground clearance though

doesnt work for me, maybe works in some markets but this 5 , sorry 6 GT is not a common sight in the UK.
must be making them money or they would not have made it.

But why?

The gc was supposed to compete with the Audi A7.. as far as styling goes, thus is quite ugly and reminds me of the 3GT which was an utter failure (note, I won't even let them give me one as a loaner)

It´s just the latest example how they water down the brand. Next is the FWD 1 series, and I didn´t dig the 8er either, since it is essentially 6er with a different name. But be not affraid cause people will buy it...

How does the saying go? If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it's still an ugly 5GT. They didn't even bother trying to tie it to the out going 6 design. This front end is the same as the boring 5er.
