Alcantara Interior

I want to get the whole front dash, headliner, and b-pillars wrapped in alcantara with the blue stitching from IND. do you see any disadvantages by having all this alcantara? Similar to what the ice blue m235i that IND.

Yes, it's a chunk of money that you will ovepay for and will never see again. M2 is a 50-60K car, no reason to try and make it a 80k car.

I think it would be interesting(and cheaper/easier) to wrap just the gauge cluster...

Generally, Alcantara is both expensive and painful to maintain

Plus, it would require dismantling most of the interior... Big potential for rattles

If you have the cash I would definitely do it though

Alternatively there's a few companies which offer more simple solutions to the interior (Alcantara/Leather Dash cover, Alcantara Trim Pieces, etc.)

You make a good point. Thanks for the input.

I think I am going to just go with gauge cluster and arm rest. Then that should complete the interior mods.

The money spent that you will never see? Not sure if I know what that's supposed to mean...

Not that I think m2 should have more leather, however it doesn't hurt to have less plastic. Many 30k cars have front dash leather wrapped.

The only concern is the quality of the job. Something messed up, it's not reversible.

I've found two companies that do both LHD and RHD interior products

Option 1 These guys are based in the Netherlands and offer both LHD and RHD solutions either in Alcantara or Leather for 1M style dash cover. I bought the leather cover and it was delivered after 1 week. These guys posted on the forum some time ago but got a lot of shit from people roasting their products. Some of their products are not great, I agree but I can definitely vouch for the dash cover

Option 2 UK based, offer Hydro Dripping and Alcantara Wrap Solutions

What is the install procedure? Is it installed on top of the old speedometer or you have to remove it?

Citing the installation instruction that came with it:

- Release the steering wheel and pull it towards you all the way. Adjust the wheels to the lowest position
- Remove the 2 torque screws (Torque bit T20) from the upper/iner side of the speedometer/tachometer clock. Be Careful!
- Press the Alcantara or leather casing on the existing dashboard-housing. You might have to apply a lot of pressure
- Reinstall the speedometer/Tachometer Clock

As my M2 keeps getting postponed (due end of May now ) I'm yet to try it out... I might temporarily try it on the M240i for fitment purposes however

I mean you will not get it back again in resale dollar for dollar on what you paid to get it done.

I've just browsed their website, a lot of good gear to be found.

This is particularly tempting:

Yum...

I don't believe you can, why don't you just get a standard dash insert, then buy a sheet of Alcantara off of eBay... Job Done, surely...
