Cig lighter label removal?

Has anyone tried removing the little cigarette pic from the lighter? I'd rather it just be black. I could play around with a solvent or 2, but don't want to reinvent the wheel if it's been done. If I mess it up, a new one can't be too much money.

No, but I did notice that on the back of the center console near the floor there is another 12v socket with a plastic cap in it. Since no one sits back there I swapped the cig lighter and this cap.

Funny, I did the same thing for now. I'm playing around with a few things trying to get it off. I'll update if I run across the magic remover stuff.

Acetone, no. Alcohol, no. Didn't want to use anything harsher.

I settled on a black sharpie. It looks surprisingly good.

Cover it with a M logo/sticker.

Go to your local MINI dealer and buy the cover from parts. It's all black.

That's a good idea, especially since my Mini dealership is the same dealer family and across the street from the BMW dealer.

The sharpie job looks embarrassingly good. I think it'll do for a while.

When you say cover are you referring to the Stopper plug-in socket (61349316116) or something that sticks to the lighter top?

The actual lighter in front of the cup holders. You push it in and it pops when it's hot enough. It has a little pic of a cigarette \ smoke trails on it. That's what I sharpied away.

Funny. It looks a lot worse in this pic than in real life. In real life it's plain old black.
