2018 M2 European Delivery Dealer Suggestion

My friend is looking for a dealer in East Coast who is willing to do ED without any markups. He wants to have a July production car so he can enjoy the car at the end of the summer in Europe.

Thanks in advance.

Why a specific location? For ED, does the car have to be delivered to the selling dealer at the end of ED?

There are ways around it but the short answer is yes.

You can piggyback ED with PCD.

Yes but it delays the redelivery time by at least couple of weeks.

I'm trying to find a California dealer that'll do European delivery at MSRP or ED price. I can't find a single California deliver that will honor the ED price.

How difficult is it to ED in another state then have it shipped to me in California?

Thanks.

I just ordered mine this week for ED, no mark up and the ED discount, I am on the list, awaiting allocation I requested delivery late Sep or mid-Oct, I am in Denver. Oh and if I finance through USAA I receive a $2K discount

After calling / emailing dealers from as far north as Crescent City and as far south as San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield, only 2 dealers would offer European Delivery at reasonable cost.

One offered model year 2019 since all 2018s are taken without any market adjustment.

The other offered an allocation that coincides with my desired timing and model year 2018 with a haggled market adjustment. I figure the market adjustment accounts for any price increase in 2019, so I went with it.

Good luck everyone.

I'm status 111 on a 2018 M2 for ED. I was also on a waitlist for 18 months... so you ending up paying over sticker makes sense.

I eventually found a dealer that had an allocation and would give me ED at ED sticker. It all worked out.

This is not true - the answer is 'no' - you do NOT have to have an ED car delivered to the selling dealer.

No, your CA can request 'courtesy delivery' to another dealer on an ED purchase order. The other dealer receives the request and has to approve it as part of the process.

If you want to do ED, you can look for a dealer anywhere in the US so long as they are willing to do ED for an M2 and they can give you an allocation. Then, if their price works for you, maybe you can get on their list for 4th quarter allocations which should be given out sometime in Sept.

Both are forum sponsors. Don't forget that you can have your ED car shipped to the Performance Center in SC for redelivery and do a day of track driving in the latest M cars for free!

thanks Dackelone

small correction, Adam is our new car sales mgr, we suggest the forum members work with David Aviles (bmwdavid@icloud.com) he is the top M sales rep in the country and also the ED King. Just shoot him a buzz with your exact specs, county, zip, and your ED dates. you can PM me anytime you have any questions or issues getting a hold of David.
