Got my 2018 Allocation Today! No M Diffuser Option?

After being on the waiting list for over a year at BMW of Monterey, I finally got the call today to place my order for a 2018 M2!

Here is my build:
2018 M2
Long Beach Blue
Executive Package
Manual Transmission
Apple CarPlay
M Performance Black Kidney Grills
M Performance Interior Package
M Performance Exhaust

The moonroof is an option, but didn't see a need for it.

One option that my CA was unable to locate in the system was the M Performance Rear Diffuser. He does see it for 2017 builds though. Does anyone know why this wouldn't show up for 2018?

Also, he states that either the carbon fiber tips or titanium tips are required for the M Performance Exhaust. Is this true, or can I order the exhaust without upgrading the tips?

Definitely looking forward to taking delivery of this beauty in Aug.

Congrats! Wouldn't know, diffuser should show up, but I have an order for a MY17. Believe your CA is right about the exhaust tips.

Btw what's the m performance interior package?

Congrats!! You have almost the same exact car I want! So jealous! :-)

So, if I'm not mistaken, the M Performance Exhaust comes with or without the carbon fiber "tips". To me the carbon fiber ones look to be "slip on". I'm personally on the fence as to if I would want them or not but I believe they are pretty expensive in addition to the exhaust (and you need 4). If you are a carbon fiber "freak" (no offense) then go for it BUT I beleive the rear diffuser you are talking about is also carbon fiber (I want it too):

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/53...-REAR-DIFFUSOR

From the pict this is essentially what the rear diffuser would look like with the M Performance exhaust sans carbon fiber tips. Quite honestly IMHO a carbon fiber diffuser PLUS carbon fiber tips would just be too much carbon fiber in the rear.

Hope this helps!

...and yeah what's the M Performance Interior Package???

I believe it's because you can't port install the diffuser anymore. Your dealer should still be able to order the part and install it.

Edit: could also be because the bumper shape is slightly tweaked.

The M Performance interior package includes:

M Performance Alcantara steering wheel
M Performance carbon fiber steering wheel trim
M Performance shift knob
M Performance brake handle
M Performance stainless steel pedals

Costs $2445, but those were all items I wanted to Spruce up the interior a bit. I especially love the steering wheel.

I am keeping the standard tips on the M Performance exhaust. No need for the carbon fiber tips. Waste of money imo.

M Performance exhaust comes without tips. You have to buy either the CF or Ti tips.

I had my choice of ti or CF tips when I ordered the MPE at port. If you do the M performance package it requires CF tips and includes the MPE, black grilles and CF rear spoiler and MP side valence decals. I didn't want the CF tips or decals so didn't opt for the package.

Ouch.

That's a total rip off.

It would be on thing if as a package it came with the digital steering wheel.

The carbon tip are really awesome but also easily stolen just the same.

You guys need to read up in the forum. The M performance exhaust MUST have the tips. The Ti tips are like $200 each. You can't use the standard tips, they are not the same diameter.
I don't know where you live, but it's so hard for me to imagine someone stealing your tips!! What good are they to someone else?

Congrats on the allocation! I'm debating whether getting some of these M Performance parts port-installed would be a good idea versus adding them myself post-delivery.

Was your dealer able to give you any discounts for those extra parts? If so, how much did the extras cost you?

Has anyone successfully added the M Performance package to their 2018 build? My CA is telling me he is unable to add this option for the 2018MY. (Week 34 Build)

How about the CF rear spoiler? After he couldnt find the package option, he tried to add all the options individually but said the CF rear spoiler wasn't an available option either.

Has anyone been able to order the M Performance Rear Diffuser as a port installed option on the LCI?

Sunroof is an option on the 2018. However, unless you really plan on using it often, might be worth saving the $1000+.
