BMW of Riverside had 2 performance editions marked up 20k. But they mark up all of their cars... even had a frozen gray m4 gts marked up 100k over msrp.
BMW of Murrieta, to my knowledge, has sold all of their allocations at MSRP.

I suggest people in California purchase out of state to avoid all the California dealer BS and markups. Especially if you want a CS. Process is very very simple and its an adventure of its own getting the vehicle and driving it back.

Crazy that people are still paying above MSRP for this car. My 2016 was the first allocation at my dealer and one of the first in the country. I took delivery in spring last year. My dealer sold at MSRP minus fleet discount minus 500.
Shame on the dealers for selling above MSRP but more shame on the purchasers. As per the previous post just go out of state and pick it up.

Seems like the auto magazines would do the world a favor by evaluating this car with others in the same actual price class. If the price most are paying is msrp + 10k, it should be compared with cars of that price class.

Went to Mckenna BMW in Norwalk and they kept trying to push 6K over MSRP.
Spoke with AB Banat at Long Beach BMW and he got me an allocation in March at MSRP. No hassles whatsoever. Good guy and no bullshit. Car finally arrived on Thursday and cant be happier. |

I skipped both and went elsewhere instead. Hoping allocations come tomorrow. Doubt I’m anywhere close to the top of the list though. |

Seeing all the BS over MSRP, I was fortunate to get my M2 without the wait, get the car as I would have ordered it and with the USAA manufacturer discount (2K). |

Also, if you're paying 10K above then you're a fool, plain and simple. This forum has proved time and time again that a few hours searching will get you something at MSRP. Sure, you might need to ship it from another state or go pick it up, but that costs way less than these ridiculous markups. |

Do you guys actually pay these markups or is this just a slimy sales tactic to make you feel like you won a negotiation when you get the car at msrp?

"I have an available 2017 M2 that just came in. It was a customer car that was a cancel. We are asking above MSRP." To hell with them, I literally found about 6 other dealers selling MSRP for 2018! I am sure I can negotiate down but honestly don't care enough to do so when others know the current market on the east coast is no longer above MSRP. |

You will have to call or email them and get the final price in writing. Before I put down a deposit at a local dealer, I called about 5 places around the country with M2's "in stock" and "prices at MSRP". Each one of them either didn't have one for purchase and said the one on the site is a customer car or did have it but wanted a 5-10k mark up. It's BS.

Customer orders also show up automatically on Autotrader, so not all the cars you see there are available.

Only M2 in a dealership in N.VA is at BMW of Sterling in Ashburn Va. They want $10k over sticker, plus have added a bunch of dealer add ons to jack the price up further. It's Alpine White with exec pkg and Apple CarPlay. Should be $55.2k but they want $67k. Very beautiful though.
What chapped my butt though was when I walked up to the car, there was a guy immediately on me. I said it was nice but I need DCT and he laughed out loud at me....I was like wtf. |
